TUI Group is a German travel and tourism group that runs tour operators, travel agencies, hotel and resort brands such as RIU, Robinson and TUI Blue, the cruise lines TUI Cruises, Marella Cruises and Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, and charter airlines including TUI Airways. Listed in Frankfurt, it sells package holidays to millions of customers across Europe, with large operations in the United Kingdom, Germany, the Nordics and Benelux. The company is headquartered in Hanover, Lower Saxony, Germany.

We're delivering ACE - a major, multi-AOC transformation establishing a harmonised Advanced Crew Ecosystem across TUI Airline and a more consistent, integrated approach to supporting crew operations Group-wide. The programme brings together complex operational, people and technology considerations across multiple countries, regulatory environments and AOCs, its success depends on effective stakeholder engagement and alignment.

For the ACE implementation, this role leads stakeholder integration across Flight Operations, Cabin & Inflight Services (CCIS) and Ground, working closely with HR to build alignment across all AOCs. It provides strategic direction for engagement with senior stakeholders, unions and social partners, ensuring diverse operational and local requirements are understood and translated into clear, deliverable programme and system requirements. Acting as the link between people, operations and technology, the role navigates complex and commercially sensitive trade-offs, identifying risks and dependencies and supporting informed decision-making. It establishes consistent governance, engagement and change-control principles, challenging local requirements where necessary to protect the integrity of the overall solution. By championing harmonisation and standardisation while recognising essential local exceptions, the role helps ensure ACE delivers a scalable, sustainable Group-wide solution and future operating model aligned with TUI Airline’s strategic and operational needs.

This role is offered on a Fixed Term Contract basis for circa 2 years. Reporting to the Head of Business Process Optimisation, we are happy to consider a hybrid working model with an average of 2 days per week onsite at our local TUI Airline office. International travel will be required.

The role will be published until 11th November 2026.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • You'll lead complex, multi-country discussions with diverse stakeholders, shaping outcomes that directly influence programme scope, cost and delivery timelines while balancing operational, financial and industrial priorities
  • Critical to the successful implementation of ACE is the delivery of our harmonised crew systems, with crew tracking and optimisation among the highest-profile priorities. This role will play a key part in ensuring these systems are delivered successfully and on time, translating operational and stakeholder requirements into practical solutions and ensuring we realise their full operational and business value
  • Converting negotiated outcomes into clear, system-ready requirements is key - you'll translate industrial agreements into rules, codes, pay elements and roster logic aligned with our crew systems and target operating model
  • Managing risk is central to this role. You'll identify and assess risks to programme delivery, lead scenario analysis to inform decisions, and provide clear recommendations when risks threaten programme outcomes
  • Driving the harmonisation of crew rules and codes across all AOCs, you'll safeguard standardisation and programme integrity by establishing clear governance for controlled exceptions, while preventing unnecessary local variation and deviation from agreed design principles
  • You'll establish and lead robust change governance, ensuring all proposed modifications are rigorously assessed for operational, system and financial impacts before approval, while maintaining alignment across business, programme and social partners
  • Providing senior stakeholder leadership, you'll build and maintain trusted relationships with key senior stakeholders, communicating strategy, trade-offs and decisions clearly and credibly to drive alignment across Flight Operations, CCIS and programme leadership

ABOUT YOU

  • You bring deep, end-to-end expertise in airline crew operations, including rostering, optimisation, tracking, pairing, bidding, fatigue and flight time limitations, with proven success applying this expertise to shape operating models and assess the impact of scheduling rules and parameter changes
  • Significant experience in complex, multi-country industrial relations is essential, with a proven ability to define engagement strategy, lead high-impact stakeholder dialogue and influence senior-level outcomes
  • Your strong understanding of crew systems, rules logic and technical constraints enables you to bridge business, operational and technical perspectives, translating industrial requirements into scalable, system-ready solutions
  • You have demonstrable experience establishing and leading structured governance in complex transformation programmes, with strong capability in options analysis, scenario modelling and multi-stakeholder decision support
  • Proven experience in airline operations, industrial relations, transformation programmes or a closely related field is required, and you're committed to continued professional development and learning
  • Strong business English and German (both spoken and written) are essential, and you're comfortable with international travel
