Excavator Operator

Overview

Turner Staffing Group is partnered with a quarry in Hinkley, CA that is looking for an Excavator Operator. This is a key production role responsible for efficiently loading haul trucks and supporting material movement across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an excavator to load haul trucks with overburden, ore, or aggregate material
• Maintain consistent production rates while minimizing spillage and rework
• Ensure proper digging and loading techniques to maximize efficiency and equipment longevity
• Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections of equipment
• Identify and report mechanical issues or unsafe conditions
• Follow all site safety policies and MSHA regulations
• Communicate effectively with haul truck drivers, dispatch, and supervisors
• Maintain clean work areas and assist with general production support as needed

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating an excavator in a mining, quarry, or heavy civil environment
• Strong understanding of loading patterns, material handling, and production goals
• Valid driver's license required
• MSHA certification (preferred; may be required prior to start)
• Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment
• Strong situational awareness and commitment to safety
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
