We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Document Controller to join our team in Mexico City, Mexico. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining all project documentation for our industrial construction initiatives. You will play a critical role in ensuring that all documents are properly controlled, archived, and accessible to project stakeholders while maintaining compliance with industry standards and organizational procedures.

  • Receive, review, and organize all project documents including drawings, specifications, permits, contracts, and correspondence
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date document control logs and databases
  • Implement and enforce document management procedures and version control protocols
  • Distribute documents to appropriate project team members and stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Create and maintain comprehensive document filing systems, both physical and digital
  • Track document revisions and ensure all outdated versions are properly archived or destroyed
  • Prepare and manage document transmittals and change orders
  • Conduct regular audits of document storage areas to ensure compliance with retention policies
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors regarding document requirements and status
  • Maintain records of document approvals, sign-offs, and regulatory compliance documentation
  • Generate document control reports and status updates for project management
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive project documentation
  • Proven experience as a Document Controller or in a similar administrative role
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with document management systems and databases
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
  • Knowledge of construction project documentation procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple documents and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (spanish & english)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Experience with industrial construction projects
  • Familiarity with construction industry standards and regulations
  • Experience with project management software and tools
  • Knowledge of document control best practices and ISO standards
  • Experience with electronic document management systems (EDMS)
  • Understanding of construction safety and compliance documentation requirements
