Senior DevOps Engineer

As a Two Six Technologies Senior DevOps Engineer, you will own the end-to-end automation of our delivery pipelines for your project. Acting as the glue between code and production, you will ensure that our product makes it to the customer quickly, securely, and reliably. You will work closely with other DevOps engineers, developers, testers, product owners, and customers to ensure requirements are met and successfully deployed in the customer’s environment. This role requires someone who is comfortable taking ownership of their work and operating independently while remaining an engaged member of a collaborative engineering team. The work will be in hybrid our Arlington office. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

• CI/CD Pipeline Ownership: Build and optimize reliable pipelines to support the secure packaging of our product for our customers’ target environment.
• Environment Hardening: Handle the security and configuration of deployment environments, ensuring our products are "secure by default" upon delivery to cloud environments.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering teams to ensure that our system's functional decomposition remains operationally fluid and easy to manage.
• Environment Provisioning: Use Terraform, Ansible, and Hashicorp’s Packer to ensure customer-facing environments are consistently configured and hardened.
• Operational Feedback: Provide feedback on the "deployability" of the system to ensure architectural decisions result in a stable and maintainable product for the end customer.
• Documentation of the deployment and operational aspects of the system as required.
• Self-Directed & Accountable: Able to take ownership of assigned work, manage priorities, and make steady progress with minimal day-to-day supervision. Follows through on commitments and communicates proactively when additional guidance or resources are needed.
• Independent Problem Solver: Comfortable working independently to investigate issues, develop solutions, and see tasks through to completion while knowing when to engage teammates for input or assistance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3 - 5 Years of Experience: Proven experience in DevOps, Systems Engineering, or SRE roles with a focus on product delivery.
• Linux Proficiency: Strong background in RHEL variants, including comfort with systemd, networking tools (iptables/tcpdump), and shell scripting.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, and Packer to automate environment setup and product configuration.
• Orchestration Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Docker and familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Scripting Expertise: Strong proficiency in Python and Bash for developing automation and integration "glue" code.
• Cloud Experience: Knowledge in deploying, securing, and maintaining production applications with at least one cloud provider (preferably AWS or vCenter)
• CI/CD and Tooling: Basic proficiency in CI/CD tooling and pipelines, with hands-on experience with GitHub Actions or GitLab Pipelines

Eligibility to obtain a government clearance if required/needed.

The projected salary range listed for this position is annualized. This is a general guideline and not a guarantee of salary. Salary is one component of our total compensation package and the specific salary offered is determined by various factors, including, but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, geographic location, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements.

Salary Range

$128,000—$190,000 USD
