About the role and team
Working in Employee and Labor Relations (ELR) at Uber means navigating the high-stakes, "messy" reality of workplace dynamics. You aren’t just a neutral observer; you are a restorative practitioner tasked with clearing the path for an empowered employee experience. This role requires the grit to dive into complex interpersonal conflicts and allegations of misconduct-from harassment to retaliation-where the answers aren't always clear and the emotional stakes are high.
Success here requires a mindset of extreme ownership and the resilience to move fast without sacrificing care. You will be part of a team where excellence is the norm, but you must be a self-starter who thrives in the ambiguity of a global organization. We are looking for a teammate who stays calm under pressure, balances empathy with decisive action, and is motivated by the challenge of turning workplace friction into a healthy, productive culture through sound judgment and restorative interventions.
What you’ll do
Manage a high volume of complex ELR cases involving interpersonal conflict and misconduct allegations, conducting thorough, objective investigations in a fast-paced environment.
Analyze context, facts, and documentation to develop balanced, actionable recommendations that hold people accountable while actively seeking to restore damaged workplace relationships.
Lead high-stakes restorative conversations and mediated discussions between employees, focusing on repairing harm and establishing sustainable paths forward.
Maintain absolute confidentiality and data integrity within our global case management systems, leveraging data to identify organizational trends and develop measured responses.
Foster action-oriented relationships with HR, Employment Legal, and business leaders at all levels, influencing outcomes through clarity, expertise, and persuasion.
Take ownership of ELR priority projects, building scalable processes that improve how we support our global community during critical moments of conflict.
Basic Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience in employee relations case management (e.g., Title IX investigations, mediation, HR, or employment law).
2+ years of hands-on experience in a high-volume case management role.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience with Restorative Practices, Restorative Justice, or similar interventions such as Community Circles and Action Plans focused on harm reduction.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to persuade and influence stakeholders at all levels of a matrixed organization.
Strong systems thinking with the ability to manage competing priorities and time-sensitive tasks with extreme attention to detail.
Deep expertise in analyzing and applying HR policies, standards, and global employment principles.
Demonstrated resilience and the ability to navigate complex people issues with critical thinking and a positive, solution-oriented outlook.
