Job Description - Linen Room Supervisor

Job Purpose

To supervise daily linen room operations, including the receiving, storage, distribution, collection, and inventory of linen and uniforms. The role ensures adequate linen and uniform availability, accurate records, good quality, and smooth support to housekeeping and other departments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Linen & Uniform Distribution - 15%

• Ensure timely distribution and collection of linen and uniforms.
• Maintain accurate records of all linen and uniform transactions.
• Ensure linen and uniforms are available when required for daily operations and events.

2. Inventory Management - 15%

• Conduct regular physical inventory of linen and uniforms.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and update the relevant system.
• Report inventory requirements, shortages, and items for replacement or disposal.

3. Storage & Organization - 15%

• Ensure linen and uniforms are properly stored and organized.
• Follow standard coding and storage procedures for easy identification and issuance.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the linen room.

4. Damage & Discrepancy Reporting - 15%

• Record and report damaged, missing, or incorrect linen and uniforms.
• Coordinate with the relevant departments and laundry service provider for replacement or resolution.
• Maintain proper records of discrepancies.

5. Team Supervision - 10%

• Assign daily tasks to Linen Room Assistants and monitor their work.
• Ensure tasks are completed properly and on time.
• Support linen requirements for events when required.

6. Asset Records - 5%

• Coordinate with the relevant team to keep equipment and asset records updated.
• Report any missing, damaged, or faulty equipment.

7. Staff Attendance & Standards - 10%

• Monitor staff attendance, grooming, and work performance.
• Ensure staff follow required procedures and standards.
• Support training and performance reviews when required.

8. Equipment & Cost Control - 10%

• Check that linen room and laundry equipment are working properly.
• Report faults and maintenance requirements promptly.
• Support cost-saving measures and prevent unnecessary losses.

9. Other Duties - 5%

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Handle confidential information responsibly and use good judgment when required.
