Senior Data Analyst - Visualization & Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Analyst with strong expertise in data visualisation, data engineering, data analytics and data modelling. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Power BI, Snowflake, Cognos, SQL, Databricks, and Azure Data Factory (ADF). This role involves designing and building scalable data pipelines, creating robust data models, and delivering actionable insights through advanced visualisations.

The candidate will have responsibilities across the following functions:

Data Visualisation and Reporting:

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive and static dashboards using Power BI.
• Translate business requirements into intuitive and actionable visualisations.
• Integrate data from multiple sources including Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle and Cognos.

Data Engineering and Ingestion:

• Build and manage data pipelines using Databricks, ETL, and Azure Data Factory (ADF) for efficient data ingestion and transformation.
• Develop and optimise ETL workflows to support reporting and analytics needs.
• Work with Databricks to process large datasets and implement scalable data solutions.

Data Analysis and Modelling:

• Perform deep-dive analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and insights.
• Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
• Collaborate with data advisers to design robust data models in Snowflake and Databricks.

Data Governance and Documentation:

• Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with governance standards.
• Document data flows, dashboard logic, and pipeline configurations.
• Support audit and compliance requirements related to data usage and sharing.

Requirements:

• 7-10 years of experience in data analytics, visualisation, and engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, custom visuals).
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake - data modelling, query optimisation, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Cognos Analytics - report development and integration.
• Advanced SQL skills - joins, subqueries, CTEs, and stored procedures.
• Proficiency in Databricks - notebooks, Spark SQL, Python and data processing.
• Experience building and managing ETL pipelines for data ingestion and transformation.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Oil and Gas, Retail and Fleet domain knowledge preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Python or R for advanced analytics is an advantage.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and data governance frameworks.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
