Warehouse & Despatch Operative

£33,000 - £36,000 per annum | Little Barford, | Monday-Friday, 7.15am-4.45pm

We’re looking for someone who wants to be more than just another pair of hands.

If you’re practical, energetic, take pride in doing things properly and want to play a genuine part in the success of a growing brand, we’d like to hear from you.

We’re looking for a Warehouse & Despatch Operative to join our team at our Little Barford premises. This is a hands-on role at the heart of our operation, helping make sure our products are received, stored, picked, packed and despatched to the highest standard.

This isn’t a role for someone who wants to simply turn up, do the bare minimum and go home.

We want someone with drive. Someone who notices things. Someone who takes ownership. Someone who wants to get behind the brand and be proud of what they help deliver.

What will you be doing?

Working closely with our Despatch & Warehouse Team Leader, you’ll play an important role in keeping our warehouse and despatch operation running smoothly.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Picking products accurately and preparing orders for despatch.
  • Packing products to our high presentation standards, ensuring everything leaves site looking professional and ready for the customer.
  • Supporting the despatch of national and international consignments.
  • Checking paperwork, labels, quantities and packaging to make sure orders are right first time.
  • Receiving incoming goods and checking quantities and condition against delivery documentation.
  • Reporting shortages, damage or discrepancies promptly.
  • Keeping stock organised, correctly labelled and easy to find.
  • Supporting regular stock counts and maintaining accurate inventory.
  • Investigating stock discrepancies and helping resolve them.
  • Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy, safe and well organised.
  • Supporting the ongoing improvement of our warehouse environment as we complete our current refurbishment.
  • Working flexibly across Goods In, picking, packing, inventory and despatch depending on what the business needs.

In short, you’ll help make sure the right products get to the right place, at the right time, in the right condition - every time.

Requirements

More than anything, we’re looking for the right attitude.

You’ll be someone who:

  • Has a genuine can-do attitude and isn’t afraid to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in.
  • Takes pride in doing a job properly rather than simply getting it done.
  • Has excellent attention to detail and understands that small mistakes can have a big impact.
  • Is reliable, punctual and takes responsibility for their work.
  • Likes keeping things organised and can spot when something isn't right.
  • Is comfortable being active and on your feet for much of the day.
  • Works well as part of a small team but can also get on with things independently.
  • Wants to own their role, make a difference and continually improve how things are done.
  • Has energy, ambition and a desire to develop.

Previous experience in a warehouse, despatch or stores environment would be useful, as would experience with stock or inventory systems.

A forklift licence would be an advantage, but it isn’t essential - we’re happy to consider training for the right person.

Benefits

Why join us?

We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us, not just fill a vacancy.

As the business and brand continue to develop, there will be opportunities for the right person to take on greater responsibility, develop their skills and progress within the company.

We value people who bring ideas, enthusiasm, and commitment - people who want to understand the bigger picture and get behind what we're trying to build.

If you’re ambitious, take pride in your work and want to be part of a team where your contribution genuinely matters, this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

The essentials

Salary: £33,000 - £36,000 per annum

Location: Little Barford,
