The University System of New Hampshire is the public university system of New Hampshire, governed by a single board of trustees from its system office in Concord and serving about 27,000 students a year. This position serves as the central receiving and logistics coordinator for Holloway Commons, the flagship dining facility on campus, which operates 7 days a week and handles 30% more product than other dining locations. The role is responsible for managing daily receiving, storage, and distribution of all food products, supplies, and equipment from multiple vendors including PFG, Produce Connection, Fanitini, Ipswich Seafood, Imperial Dade, and Sun Coffee. This position oversees the campus-wide foodservice fleet (vans, box truck, compost truck), Facilitates with product transportation to all seven retail locations, Gather on campus, Cat's Cupboard, and various pop-up events. Additional responsibilities include managing the campus composting program, coordinating grill and cookout deliveries for special events (U-Day, First Year Carnival, Opening Picnic), overseeing the storeroom (G24), inventory management, and providing main kitchen support. The role requires a flexible schedule to support 7-day operations and special events. This position is Essential staff.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Receiving, Inventory, and Storeroom Operations (40%)

  • Facilitates with daily receipt, check-in, and storage of products from multiple vendors: PFG, Produce Connection, Fanitini, Ipswich Seafood (weekly), Imperial Dade, and Sun Coffee. (Vendors subject to change due to contracts).

  • Inventories and inspects all goods for correctness of product quality, quantity, and cost; takes corrective action on unacceptable products or cost errors.

  • Maintain the storeroom (G24 and other HCS storage areas), including organization, stocking, and maintaining appropriate inventory levels.

  • Conducts regular inventory management and assists the Assistant Manager of Culinary Operations with ordering supplies.

  • Assists with dirty fry oil container oversight, including scheduling oil pickups and ensuring proper equipment use by Holloway Commons, Philbrook, Union Court, and other areas as assigned.

  • Facilitates cardboard recycling for all MUB, mail room, and Holloway Commons.

  • Maintains all related record keeping of all receivables in the computerized system.

  • Ensures proper product rotation using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) procedures upon receipt of all products.

  • Fills stock and food orders as requested on requisitions; checks items for quantities, descriptions, and size, and obtains appropriate signatures as required.

Transportation, Fleet Management, and Distribution (35%)

  • Operates and Facilitates with the hospitality foodservice fleet, including vans, box truck, and compost truck; performs safety/maintenance checks on all vehicles as assigned.

  • Assists all food transportation to Gather and Cat's Cupboard product transportation.

  • Assists with delivery of counter production to Philbrook and transports all kitchen production from Stillings to Holloway.

  • Assists with grill transportation and cookout deliveries for campus events.

  • Coordinates delivery of small wares to all locations.

  • Facilitates with transportation needs for various pop-up events on campus.

  • Facilitates with all retail deliveries to all seven retail locations, including sushi delivery.

  • Holloway serves as the receiving hub for the campus-wide mail room; assists in keeping the loading dock free from thousands of packages daily.

  • Facilitate product logistics for major hospitality and university events including U-Day, First Year Carnival, and Opening Picnic.

  • Provides special events assistance as needed for various campus hospitality functions.

Sanitation, Facility Maintenance, and Kitchen Support (25%)

  • Assists with campus composting program; steps in to support compost team operations 2-3 times per week as needed due to reliability gaps.

  • Maintains safety and sanitation standards in all receiving and storage areas.

  • Performs post-receiving cleanup, including daily sweeping and mopping of heavily trafficked receiving areas.

  • Maintains cleanliness of the loading dock, the dock should be clear of debris at all times.

  • Performs snow removal for assigned areas, including plowing, shoveling, and salting as needed.

  • Performs food production pull-thaw duties, assisting in pulling all necessary frozen food to thaw for daily service.

  • Provides main kitchen support assisting in both hot and cold food preparation.

  • Assists in day-to-day operations of all kitchens as time permits, including cleaning, production, and organization of the freezer and refrigerator.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

  • Three to five years of work experience performing storeroom, receiving, logistics, or equivalent functions in a foodservice or warehouse environment.

Required Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license (required to operate university vehicles for deliveries and fleet management).

  • ServSafe Certification.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of food service techniques, sanitation, and safety practices.

  • Strong organizational and inventory management skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and self-prioritize in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams across campus departments.

  • Guest service passion and commitment to supporting the university community.

  • Mechanical aptitude for performing vehicle safety and maintenance checks.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to physically meet the demands of the position, including lifting, bending, twisting, pulling, and pushing loads up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, to support 7-day dining operations.

  • Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

  • Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions for loading dock, transportation, and snow removal duties.

Compensation Pay Range:

$14.69 - $24.13
