The Opportunity

Responsible for developing and executing data-driven audience strategies for marketing campaigns by leveraging SQL, Python, Salesforce, and Customer Data Platform (CDP) tools. This role translates business requirements into technical solutions, builds and validates target audiences, writes and documents code and requirements, and partners closely with Marketing, Technology, Architecture, and Governance teams to ensure accurate and compliant campaign execution. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with analytical thinking, process discipline, and the ability to communicate effectively across both business and technical stakeholders.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL.

What you'll do:

• Identify emerging risks, performance gaps, customer behavior shifts, operational friction points, and growth opportunities by monitoring portfolio trends, external market conditions, and business performance indicators.
• Leverage intermediate and some advanced business, analytical, statistical, and technical knowledge to assist cross-functional teams, understand complex business objectives, and drive alternative solutions.
• Apply innovative and scientific/quantitative methodologies and analytics techniques to identify portfolio risks and opportunities and develop recommendations that assist business performance and profitable growth.
• Utilize quantitative analysis/scientific techniques to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous business challenges and identify root causes, trends, and performance drivers.
• Create business cases and recommendations that balance business needs, risk considerations, operational impacts, and profitability objectives.
• Translate recommendations and analytical findings into peer-review ready communication materials to utilize data visualization and storytelling techniques that effectively influence mid-to-upper-level management.
• Thoroughly documents assumptions, methodologies, testing approaches, validation results, implementation requirements, and performance monitoring processes to support sound governance and compliance expectations.
• Partner with business, risk, technology, operations, and control stakeholders to translate analytical recommendations into executable strategies, define success metrics, support implementation, monitor post-launch performance, and recommend optimization actions.
• Work to understand and utilize new analytical approaches, data assets, AI-enabled solutions, and decision science techniques to expand organizational capabilities and improve portfolio growth, risk, and profitability outcomes.
• Partner with stakeholders across lines of defense and business functions to support portfolio growth, operational effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Operations Research, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science, or a business or quantitative field; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.

• Minimum 4 years’ data & analytics experience or functional business relevant experience within the Banking industry OR advanced degree in quantitative analytics field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Operations Research, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science or other quantitative discipline and 2 years of experience in data/analytics or functional business experience within the Banking industry.
• Intermediate and some advanced experience applying statistical, predictive, profitability, and portfolio analytics to influence business strategy, risk management, operational execution, and financial outcomes.
• Demonstrated competency to frame business problems, develop testable hypotheses, evaluate tradeoffs, and convert analysis into strategic recommendations.
• Experience integrating, transforming, validating, and analyzing new internal and external data sources to generate business insights.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools, data visualization, developing analysis queries and procedures in SQL, SAS, BI tools or other analysis software, and relevant industry data & methods and ability to connect external insights to business problems.

What sets you apart:

• Demonstrated experience using SQL, Python, or similar coding languages to query, analyze, and manipulate large datasets for audience selection, campaign execution, and marketing decision support.
• Experience developing, documenting, and maintaining business and technical requirements, including translating marketing objectives into actionable audience selection criteria and data requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think logically through complex business challenges, validate solutions through testing, and ensure accurate implementation.
• Experience building and managing audience segments within Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), Salesforce, Adobe, or similar marketing technology environments.
• Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including Marketing, Technology, Architecture, Governance, and Operations teams, to deliver data-driven marketing initiatives.
• Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, bridging business needs with technical execution.
• Experience creating and maintaining process documentation, controls, and governance frameworks to support data quality, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
• Ability to train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to team members and business partners on audience-building processes, campaign requirements, and best practices.
• Experience supporting marketing campaign execution by identifying target audiences, applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, validating results, and ensuring campaigns align with business objectives.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end marketing processes, including audience strategy, data validation, testing, implementation, and ongoing optimization.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams to ensure timely execution of deliverables while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $93,770.00 - $179,240.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
