The Opportunity
As a dedicated Financial Analyst Lead, you will be responsible for leading financial processes and expense categories to solve complex business problems while performing forecasting, planning, and financial modeling related to AI investments. You will mentor team members on complex financial processes and drive and motivate the team to deliver advanced analytics and insights around key business drivers. You will assist management in assigning tasks and managing workflow while ensuring all activities are completed in accordance with regulatory and compliance guidelines.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
- Lead, develop, and motivate the team to provide advanced analytics and insights around key business drivers.
- Anticipate opportunities to tackle the most complex and / or unique business problems, providing proactive financial solutions with holistic and forward-looking perspectives to enable better decision making by senior management.
- Consistently interact with senior management becoming their trusted advisor on all financial issues.
- Make recommendations to solve short-term, as well as strategic financial business problems.
- Teach and mentors others about complex financial processes, business drivers and systems ensuring information sharing and knowledge transfer.
- Review analysts work and assist management in assigning tasks and managing workflow.
- Lead initiatives to develop an integrated enterprise planning process from multiple companies and/or staff agency processes and technologies.
- Direct analyses and guides the development, enhancement, and implementation of critical processes, programs, and technologies.
- Anticipate opportunities and potential solutions, leads cross-functional teams through the problem resolution process, and advises senior management on issues.
- Acquire and apply expert knowledge of the business, its products and processes.
- Perform complex and unique work assignments and problem resolution across multiple systems, functions, or processes.
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
- 6 years of financial/accounting analysis experience to include 2 years leading strategic financial/accounting opportunities. OR Advanced degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, progress towards a CPA or CFA designation, and 4 years of financial / accounting analysis experience to include 1 year leading strategic financial/accounting opportunities.
- Subject-matter-expert knowledge of data analysis and relevant technical accounting/finance acumen required.
- Subject-matter-expert level of business acumen in the areas of financial services operations, finance/accounting industry practices and emerging trends required.
- Experience communicating complex financial/accounting topics to a variety of audiences.
- Experience using financial/accounting technologies and proposing recommendations for improvements.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Excel for significant financial data analysis and reporting.
- Experience in the application and adherence to financial regulations and compliance.
- Experience producing financial reports and providing recommendations based on data.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $127,310 - $243,340.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
