The Opportunity
As a Real Estate Processor II, you are responsible for managing mortgage loans through the fulfillment process from application submission to final decision. You verify the accuracy and completeness of loan documentation, ensure compliance with applicable regulations and investor requirements, and maintain a high standard of quality throughout the process. By building effective partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders, you help drive timely loan decisions while providing an exceptional experience for our members through proactive communication and diligent pipeline management.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position is based in Tampa, FL.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
- Performs all processing, pre-underwriting, and pre-closing tasks required to proactively manage a pipeline of mortgage loan files from receipt in processing to final disposition.
- Processes VA or Conventional loan applications and receives Jumbo and New Construction loans to initiate processing with peer assistance.
- Verifies accuracy and adherence to investor guidelines of all documents required for a complete submission to Underwriting.
- Ensures timely submission for redisclosure when a change in circumstance occurs to prevent cures and lender monetary losses.
- Responsible for timely response to all member and third-party inquiries and adherence to all contact routines.
- Consistently meets target service level objectives for dispositioning a minimum percentage of starting month's pipeline.
- Meets or exceeds team's monthly performance goals to include production, quality, and member satisfaction.
- Initiates follow-up phone calls to members and third parties to obtain necessary loan documentation, title, credit, and/or collateral information.
- Meets stated objectives for quality submissions to Underwriting.
- Maintains proactive review of pipeline to ensure that rate locks do not expire and lender paid rate locks do not exceed maximum dollar threshold set by management.
- Meets quality objectives for Final Approval status and maintains minimum threshold for Underwriting re-finals.
- Coordinates closings with all parties and assists with post-closing follow-up, as applicable.
- Seeks guidance from team members for problem resolution and escalates where appropriate.
- Completes all compliance courses and mortgage product training and assessments, required by the business.
- Builds strong foundational skills in real estate mortgage lending.
- Ensures adherence and compliance with all state, federal and investor guidelines and regulations
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
- 1 year of customer service experience.
- Acquisition and maintenance of NMLS registration and any other applicable licenses/state registrations as required.
What sets you apart:
- Active NMLS registration
- Experience handling inbound and outbound customer interactions
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience de-escalating customer concerns and resolving issues professionally
- Real estate, mortgage, banking, or financial services experience
- US military experience gained through military service or gained as a military spouse / domestic partner
In addition to other USAA applicant screenings, individuals hired for this position must be federally registered on the National Mortgage and Licensing System Registry (NMLSR) after being hired. The NMLSR will require you to provide identification information, financial services related employment history, and disclose certain criminal, civil judicial or regulatory/licensing actions that have been brought against you. It also requires that you be fingerprinted for an FBI background check.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $43,680.00 - $76,610.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
