Job Summary:

UST is looking for a Lab Technicianto provide hands-on hardware, software, and infrastructure support for Client validation laboratories. The role focuses on system troubleshooting, equipment configuration, machine recovery, hardware maintenance, and ensuring reliable day-to-day lab operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, firmware, OS, and infrastructure issues.
  • Diagnose system failures using logs, firmware data, BMC/iLO, monitoring dashboards, and engineering procedures.
  • Configure and maintain servers, workstations, storage, network devices, and lab equipment.
  • Perform machine recovery, firmware flashing and updates, hardware diagnostics, and system qualification.
  • Install, replace, and upgrade hardware components and lab equipment.
  • Support lab infrastructure setup, expansion, and equipment relocation.
  • Monitor system health and ensure machines are ready for validation activities.
  • Maintain accurate hardware inventory and asset information.
  • Execute documented troubleshooting and recovery procedures.
  • Document technical issues, recovery activities, and system changes.
  • Coordinate with engineering and support teams and escalate complex issues when required.
  • Support continuous improvement of lab processes and ensure compliance with defined SLAs and KPIs.Required Skills & Experience:
  • Experience in lab operations, IT support, hardware support, or validation environments.
  • Good knowledge of computer hardware, Windows/Linux operating systems, firmware, and networking.
  • Experience with servers, workstations, storage, and network equipment.
  • Familiarity with BMC/iLO, system logs, monitoring, and hardware diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with system recovery, firmware updates, hardware replacement, and configuration.
  • Good troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hands-on lab environment.

    • Preferred Skills:

    • Experience in semiconductor, hardware validation, test, or engineering labs.
    • Knowledge of BIOS/UEFI, firmware, virtualization, and server hardware.
    • Experience with inventory and asset management systems.
    • Basic knowledge of Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Education

      Technical qualification or degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant practical experience.
