DevOps Engineer (GitHub Actions, Kubernetes & Helm)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in GCP, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and DevSecOps practices. The role involves designing, implementing, and supporting CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, security controls, and release management for cloud-native applications running on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building scalable deployment solutions, enforcing security and governance standards, and driving operational excellence across development and production environments.

Experience

  • Overall Experience: 5 to 8 years
  • Relevant Experience: Minimum 2 to 3 years of recent hands-on DevOps experience

    Key Responsibilities

    Source Control & Branch Governance

  • Manage GitHub repositories and branch governance processes.
  • Implement and maintain Git Flow branching strategy.
  • Configure branch protection rules and pull request workflows.
  • Enforce code review standards prior to code merges.

    CI/CD Engineering

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
  • Automate build, testing, security validation, packaging, deployment, and release promotion processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline failures and deployment issues.
  • Develop and maintain reusable pipeline templates and standards.

    Kubernetes & Deployment Automation

  • Build and manage deployment pipelines for GKE environments.
  • Create and maintain Helm charts for application deployment.
  • Support environment-specific deployment configurations.
  • Implement deployment validation mechanisms, rolling upgrades, and rollback strategies.

    • DevSecOps & Security

    • Integrate security controls within CI/CD workflows.
    • Enforce quality and security gates throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
    • Monitor, analyze, and remediate security findings.
    • Maintain periodic security scan reports and compliance documentation.
    • Implement secure coding validations, secret detection controls, dependency management, and security governance practices.
    • Ensure repositories remain free from exposed credentials and sensitive information.

    Containerization

    • Build, optimize, and maintain Docker container images.
    • Improve image performance, security, and reliability.
    • Publish and manage container artifacts within approved repositories.
    • Support vulnerability remediation activities for containerized workloads.

    Release Management

  • Support DEV, QA, and PROD releases.
  • Maintain deployment documentation and rollback procedures.
  • Participate in production deployment activities and release approvals.
  • Ensure release processes align with organizational DevOps standards and governance requirements.

    Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain README files, deployment guides, architecture documentation, release documentation, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to established DevOps standards, security policies, and best practices.
