In this role, you will coordinate transportation and customs activities, work closely with forwarders and external authorities, and support smooth order fulfillment from shipment planning through delivery. You will also collaborate across Sales, Engineering, Production, Procurement, Finance, and Service teams, helping drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction. If you enjoy solving logistics challenges, optimizing supply routes, and working with multiple stakeholders, this could be the opportunity for you.

Your responsibilities

  • Coordinate timely and cost-effective transportation of products and materials, selecting the most suitable shipping solutions and transport methods.
  • Prepare shipping documentation and manage customs declarations to ensure compliant and efficient shipments.
  • Research, secure, and maintain permits, licenses, and certificates required for customs clearance.
  • Collaborate with customs authorities, shipping agents, and logistics partners to verify requirements and negotiate shipping costs and delivery schedules.
  • Provide transportation cost analysis, route evaluations, and alternative logistics solutions to support decision-making and negotiations.
  • Respond to customer and internal inquiries regarding shipment status, order progress, and delivery timelines.
  • Manage office-related procurement activities, including invoice handling, customer portal uploads, physical invoice attachments, and purchase/procurement administration.
  • Partner with GFO, Procurement, Order Management, Sales, and Service teams to ensure successful deliveries and payment verification.
  • Coordinate activities between Sales, Engineering, Production, Logistics, Finance, and customers to support smooth order execution.
  • Prepare and follow up on spare parts quotations while monitoring purchase orders, delivery schedules, and payment status to support customer and business needs.

Expectations from you

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, forwarding, or supply chain coordination.
  • Experience coordinating domestic or national transportation and shipment activities.
  • Knowledge of shipping documentation, customs declarations, and customs clearance processes.
  • Ability to obtain and manage permits, licenses, and certificates required for logistics operations.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders, shipping agents, customs authorities, and external logistics partners.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate transportation costs, routes, and delivery alternatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while responding accurately to customer and stakeholder inquiries.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with commercial, operational, and support teams.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with a customer-focused mindset.

To succeed in this role

To succeed in this role, you will bring hands-on experience in logistics coordination, customs processes, and transportation planning. You can work independently while managing day-to-day shipping activities and resolving operational challenges with initiative and accuracy. Strong analytical skills, stakeholder management capabilities, and the ability to collaborate across multiple functions will help you drive efficient deliveries and improve ways of working. You are comfortable influencing others within your area of expertise while maintaining a strong focus on customer service and operational excellence.

We also expect you to align with Valmet’s Leadership Principles-practical behaviors that guide how we lead, collaborate, and succeed together:

  • Take accountability - Act with ownership, set clear expectations, and follow through
  • Lead with courage - Champion change, try bold ideas, and learn quickly

  • Collaborate for growth - Work across boundaries, value diverse perspectives, and focus on customer value

We offer

You will join a team responsible for coordinating transportation, customs activities, delivery execution, and customer support across the order fulfillment process. The role offers broad exposure to internal stakeholders including Sales, Engineering, Production, Procurement, Finance, Order Management, and Service teams, as well as external logistics partners and authorities. You will have the opportunity to influence logistics efficiency through route analysis, cost optimization, and process improvements.
