We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Engineer to join our Global Supply team. In this role, you will act as the crucial link between our internal stakeholders and the global supply chain. You will be responsible for managing assigned categories, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality materials, and driving cost-efficiency through strategic procurement practices.

Key responsibilities:

  • Understands and strictly follows Company’s Rules, Regulations, Policies, Instructions and Procedure to avoid unnecessary conflicts and to reach expected behavior and job performance.
  • Response of assigned categories purchasing (including project purchasing & indirect purchasing) and related supply network management.
  • Purchasing requirements plan management and optimize together with stakeholders to reduce the unreasonable requirements.
  • Initial supplier planning for charged products and propose new supplier evaluation needs based on existing supplier capacity.
  • Follow Valmet price instructions and make quotations from qualified suppliers if necessary. Initial history price to annual price proposal and Co-operation with Category for frame contracts and annual price update by regularly.
  • Purchasing under budget control and deviation analysis report if have.
  • On time delivery of qualified products/services to meet internal customers & stakeholders’ needs through DQC/ITP and delivery status & risk control.
  • ECN management, claim handling, deal with unqualified delivery to make quality cost under control.
  • Deal with the supplier’s invoice and make payments on time.
  • Charged supplier performance management with supervisor in monthly and related improvement actions implement timely.
  • Co-operation with quality & category for new supplier development.
  • Response of charged new products & supplier capability development.
  • Response of assigned purchasing related process improvement.
  • Complete all other tasks assigned by supervisor/manager or company.

Expectations for you :

  • Bachelor’s degree in science/engineering course is preferred
  • At least 2 years working experience including at least half of a year of purchasing experience in the manufacturing environment
  • Good ability to read technical drawings
  • Knowledge and experience in ERP systems
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Fluent oral English
  • Knowledge in general purchasing principle and process
  • Have awareness of relevant quality systems, like ISO9001, ISO14001 & OHSAS18001.
