Job Title

Senior Compliance Counsel - Anti-Corruption & Third Party Integrity

Job Description

Location

Lisbon (Portugal), Barcelona or Madrid (Spain)

The role

As Senior Compliance Counsel - Anti-Corruption & Third-Party Integrity, you will play a key role in Vanderlande's Compliance & Ethics team. The team is responsible for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of several core compliance areas (Anti-Corruption, Competition Law, Data Privacy & AI Governance, Trade Compliance, and Speak-Up & Investigations), and for fostering a culture of integrity and ethical business conduct across the organization.

You will act as the global program lead for Vanderlande's Anti-Corruption framework, including its Business Partner Due Diligence processes and related third-party integrity activities. Your primary focus will be to further develop, strengthen and implement the framework across the organization, ensuring it remains practical, proportionate and effective in managing integrity risks. You will help shape Vanderlande's future approach to Anti-Corruption and third-party integrity by translating compliance requirements into practical policies, procedures, controls, training and business guidance.

In addition to these global program responsibilities, you will act as the regional compliance lead for South Europe & LATAM, supporting business stakeholders, addressing compliance questions and concerns, and helping ensure that global compliance standards are applied consistently across the region.

This is an individual contributor role with global scope. While there are no direct reports, leadership is an important aspect of the role. You will regularly engage with senior stakeholders, influence decision-making across functions and regions, help shape how Anti-Corruption and third-party integrity activities are implemented in practice, and act as a trusted advisor on compliance and ethics-related matters. The role reports to the Executive Director Ethics, Risk & Compliance.

What you will do

Anti-Corruption program ownership

  • Own and further develop Vanderlande's Anti-Corruption framework, including related policies, procedures and guidance.
  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Vanderlande's Anti-Corruption program across functions and regions, including risk assessments, policies, procedures, controls, training and awareness activities.
  • Work with Compliance counterparts across the Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) group to help ensure that Vanderlande's Anti-Corruption program remains appropriately aligned with TICO group expectations and requirements. Contribute to knowledge sharing and the exchange of best practices across the wider group.
  • Own and further develop Business Partner Due Diligence as a core part of Vanderlande’s Anti-Corruption program, including the procedure, integrity assessments, supporting tools, templates and documentation.
  • Act as the central point of expertise for integrity-related business partner assessments, red flags, and complex due diligence cases.
  • Translate legal and compliance requirements into practical guidance and workable solutions for the business.
  • Act as a trusted partner to business stakeholders and support functions, including Sales, Procurement, Legal, Finance and Trade Compliance, on matters where Anti-Corruption, business partner integrity and other specialist compliance areas intersect.

Regional compliance responsibility

  • Act as the primary Compliance contact for South Europe & LATAM, supporting management and business stakeholders with the practical application of Vanderlande's compliance framework.
  • Help address compliance questions, concerns and escalation matters across the region and bring regional insights, risks and lessons learned back into the broader Compliance & Ethics program.

Training, guidance and awareness

  • Develop and deliver practical training, guidance and communication on Anti-Corruption, Business Partner Due Diligence, and related integrity topics.
  • Support management and business teams in understanding and applying the requirements in their day-to-day activities and decision-making.
  • Act as a sparring partner and knowledge hub on preventive integrity risks within the Compliance & Ethics team.

Continuous improvement

  • Define and coordinate meaningful KPIs, dashboards and management reporting for the Anti-Corruption program, including topics such as Anti-Corruption risk assessments, Business Partner Due Diligence, and gifts & hospitality flows, working closely with relevant stakeholders and data owners.
  • Use data, trends, practical experience and management insights to assess program implementation and identify emerging risks, recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate follow-up actions and improvements arising from risk assessments, monitoring activities, due diligence cases, and management reporting.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of Vanderlande's Compliance Management System and related integrity processes.

Who are we looking for?

Experience & background

  • University degree (Master's level or equivalent) in Law, Business Administration, Compliance, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
  • Typically, 6-10 years of relevant experience in anti-corruption, integrity or compliance roles within an international organization.
  • Demonstrable experience developing, implementing and improving an Anti-Corruption program in a multinational environment, including policies, procedures, controls, training and business guidance.
  • Experience with Business Partner Due Diligence processes, integrity assessments and third-party risk mitigation measures.
  • Strong understanding of corruption risks and compliance controls.
  • Experience operating in multinational and matrixed organizations.
