What you’ll be doing...
Our network engineering team keeps us ahead of the competition. As a Principal RF Engineer, you’ll produce RF planning analyses, budgets, and traffic reports for the region. You’ll also give guidance to markets on RF planning, and develop network evolution and growth plans. You’ll play a key role in making sure our customers continue to enjoy the crystal-clear connections and top-notch call performance that we’re known for.
You will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
- Working with engineers and planners to recommend process improvements, especially where additional automation is possible.
- Serving as the subject matter expert for BTS and E-UTRAN architecture and planning tools.
- Leading ad-hoc trials to improve LTE and VoLTE performance, and supporting optimization efforts and the network build program
- Providing leadership, guidance, and technical direction to the RF team, hosting meetings to plan and share information, and ensuring consistency in the regional planning policy.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
- Experience in LTE traffic engineering, performance and traffic trending tools.
- A valid Driver’s License.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- A degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science. Ideally, with a specialization in RF or communications systems.
- Strong knowledge of LTE and CDMA technologies.
- Knowledge of RF antenna theory and design.

Where you’ll be working

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.The salary range for the Illinois location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $118,000.00 - $205,000.00.
