Are you the type of person who is self-motivated in your desire to achieve welding excellence and is eager to learn and apply technical welding principles? In this role you will assist both production and engineering functions as they relate to welded connections. We’re looking for engaged individuals with a strong desire for professional development, excellent communication skills, and who strive to improve quality, productivity, and safety throughout Vermeer welding.What You’llDo
1. Performvisual inspectionof welds, auditing of weldments,and reviewresults with leadership.
2. Communicate new and unique ideas to improve Vermeer products and welding processes.Help quantifycost savings for equipment investments.
3. Conduct print reviews on engineering change notices (ECN) for new and existing weldments.Create change request forms (CRF)related to welding errors or necessary clarificationswithin prints.Support new product launches throughboth design/prototype phase and production manufacturing.
4. Provide on-the-job training to new welders and provide guidance to incumbent welders.Assistin both qualifying welders and weldingprocedures as needed.
5. Perform basic weld failure/ root cause analysis to resolve warrantyrelated issues/internal 8Dtasks.
6. Document and record inspection/audit results, welderqualificationcontinuity, print reviews, quality problem resolutions, weld process audits, and special process improvement projects.
What We’reLooking For
- High School Diploma.
- Technical School or skilled trade program in welding technology, auto tech, diesel tech, industrial/manufacturingsystems tech, ag systems techor related field.
- Minimum three years experiencerelated to weldinginnon-destructive testingor visual inspection, maintenance, tooling, continuous improvement, or quality technician- andphysical welding experience.
- Basic understanding of weld design guidelines,standards/codes, problem solving,and troubleshooting.
- Ability tovisually inspectwelding qualityagainst the appropriate acceptancecriteriarequired. Hands on skill inSMAW,FCAW,SAW,CAC, and OFC/PAC for manual andautomated processes preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safely operatinggeneral industrial toolsrequired. Hands-on skill operating company or similar industrial, construction, or agricultural/environmental equipment preferred.
-Vermeer Welder LevelIII or qualified FCAW+GMAW-S (pipe) preferred.GMAW-Pqualification required.
- American Welding Society memberorCertified Welding Inspector or Supervisor (CWI/CWS)preferred.
