IT Intern (Summer 2027)

Position Summary

We are seeking an undergraduate Engineering Intern to support the implementation of PTC Windchill and the migration of engineering data from legacy systems. This role provides hands-on experience with CAD data management, PLM processes, engineering documentation, and data migration activities while working closely with Engineering, CAD, and IT teams.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering and CAD data migration into Windchill.
• Analyze, validate, and cleanse CAD models, drawings, assemblies, BOMs, and metadata.
• Perform data quality checks and migration validation activities.
• Assist with Windchill testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and issue tracking.
• Verify CAD references, assembly structures, and drawing relationships.
• Document migration findings, defects, and resolutions.
• Collaborate with engineering users and implementation partners to support project activities.
• Assist in creating process documentation and training materials.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with one or more CAD tools:
• PTC Creo (preferred)
• SolidWorks
• Autodesk Inventor / AutoCAD
• Understanding of engineering drawings, assemblies, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
• Basic knowledge of programming or scripting (Python, Java, SQL, or VBA) is a plus.
• Exposure to PLM/PDM systems such as Windchill, Teamcenter, Agile PLM, or ENOVIA is desirable but not required.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks.
