Vertiv is an American company that supplies the power and cooling infrastructure data centres depend on, formed in 2016 when Emerson Electric sold its network power division to Platinum Equity. Its products cover uninterruptible power supplies, switchgear and busway, precision air and liquid cooling, racks and the monitoring software that runs them, sold to hyperscale operators, colocation providers and enterprises. Headquartered in Westerville, Ohio and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it has become one of the most direct beneficiaries of artificial intelligence build-out because dense computing requires liquid cooling it already makes.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Cost Accountant is directly responsible for the management, accuracy, and optimization of conversion costs and other variable costs across the manufacturing operation. This role owns the full analysis of labor, overhead absorption, utilities, consumables, maintenance, and all other non-material variable cost elements that drive product cost. The Cost Accountant creates and owns weekly cost performance metrics, leads cost-out reduction initiatives, and drives accountability with the Operations team through recurring results presentations. • Own the full Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) process from request initiation through approval, execution tracking, and post-investment review.

  • Manage the CAPEX budget, track spending against approved amounts, and report variances to Finance and Operations leadership, ensuring CAPEX requests include proper financial justification (ROI, payback period, NPV analysis) and are aligned with the annual capital plan.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Minimum 0-2 years of progressive experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated focus on conversion costs and variable cost management.
