We are currently seeking a Presales Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Zagreb, Croatia!

Join Vertiv as a Presales Structural Engineer and play a key role in developing scalable, modular structural solutions for AI factories, high-density data centers, industrial facilities, and other critical infrastructure.

Working at the early stages of customer engagements, you will translate project requirements, site constraints, equipment loads, and performance expectations into practical, buildable structural concepts. You will work closely with Sales, Solution Architects, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop solutions that balance structural performance, manufacturability, cost, transport, installation, and scalability.

This is a presales-focused engineering role where your structural expertise will help shape solutions from the initial concept through proposal and project handover.

What kind of work will you be doing?

• Develop structural concepts for modular and hybrid AI factory and data center solutions, including steel structures, equipment platforms, enclosures, and supporting infrastructure
• Review customer requirements, specifications, site information, equipment loads, and project constraints and translate them into practical structural solutions
• Perform preliminary structural calculations and assessments for static, dynamic, lifting, transportation, anchoring, and installation conditions
• Develop and review structural layouts, 3D models, concepts, and technical documentation to support proposals and customer discussions
• Coordinate structural interfaces with architectural, electrical, thermal/mechanical, CAD, manufacturing, and site teams to develop integrated solutions
• Support Sales and Solution Architects during customer engagements, RFPs, tenders, and technical presentations
• Evaluate structural options with consideration for cost, manufacturability, modularization, transportation, installation, serviceability, and scalability
• Review supplier and subcontractor technical proposals and provide structural input during the pre-sales process
• Apply relevant international, national, and industry standards to ensure proposed solutions are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose
• Identify structural risks, design conflicts, and opportunities for standardization or value engineering
• Support the transition of awarded solutions from Presales into detailed engineering and project execution

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master Degree or equivalent degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering
• 2+ years of relevant structural engineering or design experience
• Experience with steel structures, modular construction, industrial facilities, data centers, or other complex engineered infrastructure is preferred
• Strong understanding of structural system design and preliminary structural calculations
• Experience interpreting customer specifications, technical requirements, drawings, and applicable design standards
• Proficiency with structural/CAD tools such as Tekla, Revit, AutoCAD, Robot, SCIA Engineer, IDEA StatiCa, or similar
• Understanding of structural interfaces with equipment, architectural, mechanical, and electrical systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, solutions-oriented approach
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, customer-focused presales environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-structural stakeholders
• English minimum B2 level
