Supervisor Production
Position Summary
This role requires a hands-on leader with strong manufacturing experience, excellent people management skills, and a proven ability to drive operational excellence in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily operations within the Transformer Production area.
- Manage production teams to ensure compliance with safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and cost savings.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including Hourly Rate, Productivity, First Pass Yield, Schedule Attainment, Scrap, and Overtime.
- Ensure adherence to standardized work instructions, manufacturing procedures, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate manpower allocation and production schedules to meet customer demand and operational goals.
- Develop and mentor team members through coaching, training, performance feedback, and career development activities.
- Foster a positive employee relations environment that promotes accountability, teamwork, and engagement.
- Support investigations and implementation of corrective actions related to safety, quality, and production issues.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Human Resources to resolve production constraints and improve plant performance.
- Lead daily tier meetings, production reviews, and shift handovers.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, environmental regulations, and health & safety standards.
- Participate in Kaizen events, Lean Manufacturing initiatives, and operational excellence programs.
Qualifications Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Experience
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading hourly production employees in a high-volume manufacturing operation.
- Previous experience in transformer manufacturing, electrical assembly, wire processing, metal fabrication, or similar industrial operations is highly preferred.
- Strong background in production planning, labor management, and performance metrics.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Ability to analyze data and drive decisions through performance metrics.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
