Supply Chain Executive

POSITION SUMMARY

Supply Chain Executive will be responsible for leading and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations across the Japan market. This includes overseeing purchase order processing, logistics coordination, inventory management, project support, and trade compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in supply chain execution, leadership skills, interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders across Asia and other departments.

This role is critical in ensuring operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and alignment with Vertiv’s core principles and strategic priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Purchase Order Management

• Oversee accurate and timely processing of purchase orders.
• Review and optimize workflows for improved accuracy and responsiveness.
• Coordinate with sales, service, and project teams to align supply planning with customer needs.

Delivery and Inventory Management

• Lead delivery tracking and ensure adherence to committed project timelines.
• Monitor inventory allocation and availability, ensuring stock levels meet demand forecasts.
• Drive coordination with warehouses, 3PL partners, and internal stakeholders to resolve bottlenecks.

Project Coordination and Escalation Management

• Participate in project planning reviews to ensure logistics and fulfillment alignment.
• Escalate and resolve issues related to delays, stock shortages, or supplier performance.
• Provide root cause analysis and corrective action plans when project milestones are missing.

Trade Compliance and Regional Coordination

• Ensure compliance with trade regulations and internal procurement policies.
• Serve as the point of contact with corporate and APAC supply chain teams to align standards and processes.
• Monitor and implement changes in import/export procedures and documentation.

Stakeholder Communication and Reporting

• Maintain transparent communication with internal teams and management regarding supply chain performance, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Generate regular reports on order status, inventory levels, supplier performance, and project logistics.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• Strong understanding of ERP systems, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Knowledge of logistics, inventory control, trade compliance, and customer service processes.
• Excellent leadership abilities with effective communication and interpersonal strengths
• Good command of English and Japanese N2 above (spoken and written)
• Demonstrated ability to lead operations and collaborate across functions and regions.

TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED

• Occasional travel across Japan and Asia as needed (approx. 10-20%).
