Tax Manager

Direct Tax Compliance & Operations

• Manage all direct tax compliances - Advance Tax, TDS, TCS payments and return filings (ITR, Tax Audit, TP Audit, CbCR, Master File, SFT, etc.)
• Handle STAT vs. GAAP reconciliations, quarterly tax provisions, US GAAP compliance, ARC reconciliations (as required under SOX compliance), and Corporate tax reporting (Tax Questionnaires, Cash Tax Forecasts, RTP Templates)
• Ensure zero non-compliance with a “No Surprise” policy

Tax Litigation & Transfer Pricing

• Manage ongoing litigation at High Court, ITAT, CIT(A), AO, and TPO levels; coordinate with external legal counsels and Big 4 consultants
• End-to-end Transfer Pricing management - TP Study, Master File, CbCR, Benefit Test Documentation, Technology Royalty reviews, and TP assessments

Audits & Overseas Operations

• Manage Tax, Transfer Pricing, and Internal Audits under Indian local laws as well as under US GAAP laws and SOX requirements; maintain assessment readiness for multiple financial years
• Manage overseas entity operations end-to-end (monthly book close, tax audits, compliance)

Tax Planning & Cost Optimization

• Devise strategies to optimize ETR - NPS structuring, depreciation planning, DTAA benefit claims
• Rationalize consultant fees by building in-house capabilities; switch to local consultants wherever possible instead of Big 4

Automation & Business Partnering

• Drive automation - regular upgrades in WHT compliance tools to automate TDS deductions by syncing vendor onboarding systems with ERP (eliminating manual TDS setup), workflow automation for foreign remittances, AI tools for tax research
• Conduct internal tax trainings, provide advisory across business functions, and lead continuous improvement projects

Education:

Chartered Accountant (CA) - ICAI

Experience

• 10 years post-qualification in Direct Taxation handling end-to-end Direct Tax independently
• US MNC experience (preferred)

Income Tax, TDS, Transfer Pricing, Tax Litigation, FEMA.

Technical Skills:

Mandatory: Strong accounting knowledge; Deferred tax and tax provisioning; Income Tax / TDS TRACES Portal; Excellent in MS Office (Advanced Excel & PowerPoint); Tech-savvy with ability to adopt and learn new automation tools to simplify repetitive tasks

Preferred: Oracle system knowledge; US GAAP experience
