What will you do?

A day in the life of an Analyst, Sustainability Data at VF looks a little like this.

This role advances VF’s sustainability strategy by managing the data needed to measure environmental performance, track progress against key performance indicators, support regulatory readiness, and inform business decisions.

In collaboration with the Corporate Sustainability and Product Sustainability teams, this role supports data related to VF’s primary environmental impacts, including utilities, renewable energy, waste, transportation, materials and products, and associated greenhouse gas emissions. The role will facilitate sustainability data collection, organization, and analysis across the enterprise so VF can support regulatory compliance and make informed strategic decisions.

How You Will Make a Difference:

The Analyst, Sustainability Data will help the Corporate Sustainability team measure VF’s environmental impacts and track progress toward sustainability goals. This role will support the collection, aggregation, and maintenance of data across VF’s direct operations, supply chain, materials, and products, helping the team meet ESG regulatory requirements and support strategic business outcomes.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

  • Support greenhouse gas accounting for Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 categories, including data collection, preparation, and emissions calculations.
    • Aggregate and analyze sustainability data to support voluntary sustainability targets, mandatory ESG regulatory disclosures, and external reporting.
    • Synthesize sustainability data for internal and external communications, translating complex information into clear insights, actions, and outcomes.
  • Support VF during external assurance and audit processes by helping prepare, organize, and explain Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 greenhouse gas data.
    • Maintain and improve standard operating procedures, governance structures, and audit-ready controls in collaboration with the ESG Controller to support assurance and ongoing regulatory readiness.
    • Provide data management, file management, and organizational support to centralize sustainability data and improve accessibility for reporting and assurance.
  • Coordinate with ESG Reporting, the ESG Controller, Legal, Finance, and other VF teams to ensure sustainability data is timely, accurate, and complete for disclosures and surveys, including VF’s annual Environmental and Social Responsibility Report, CDP, CSRD, RE100, retailer surveys, and industry surveys.
    • Support mandatory climate data reporting, including CSRD, CA SB 253, and other applicable requirements.
    • Support voluntary sustainability reporting and communications, including VF’s Environmental and Social Responsibility Report and CDP quantitative and qualitative sections.
  • Assist with cross-functional collaboration across Finance, Indirect Procurement, Logistics, and external partners to improve sustainability data flows and increase process efficiency.

Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 2+ years of experience and professional achievements.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, corporate social responsibility, economics, environmental studies, management information systems, engineering, finance, or a similar field.
  • Analytical experience and understanding of data collection and organization.
  • Advanced Excel experience with the ability to manipulate data using formulas, pivot tables, macros, and modeling.
  • Exposure to sustainability ratings, disclosure frameworks, and reporting standards, including but not limited to the GHG Protocol, Science Based Targets initiative, Net Zero, TCFD, CDP, and CSRD.
  • Environmental sustainability expertise in carbon, energy, waste, water, and material impacts preferred.
  • Greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry tools such as the Higg Index, preferred.
  • Systems thinker with the ability to understand underlying connections and correlations.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and with external consultants.
  • Ability to successfully support and prioritize multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are required.

Hiring Range:

$64,800.00 USD - $81,000.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
