Via

Via is a transit technology company that designs software solutions to re-engineer and power public transportation networks worldwide. Headquartered in New York City, United States, the organization partners with municipalities, transit agencies, and school districts to enable dynamic, on-demand transit systems. Through its proprietary algorithms, the platform optimizes routing and pooling to improve urban mobility and make public transit more accessible and efficient.

Via is on a mission to create public transportation systems that provide far greater access to jobs, healthcare, and education. Our platform serves as the technology backbone for modern transit networks, transforming antiquated and siloed public transportation systems into smart, data-driven, and efficient digital networks. With hundreds of agency partners around the world, Via is recognized as the leading transportation technology and service provider globally.

As a Talent Strategy & Operations Principal at Via, you will play a direct role in scaling, refining, and operationalizing our talent processes. Our Strategic Growth team does far more than traditional recruiting - we are the stewards of Via’s leadership pipeline, partnering closely with global hiring managers to define what exceptional looks like. In this role, you will implement creative strategies to engage top talent and elevate Via’s employer brand through targeted events, strategic partnerships, and compelling content. You will approach talent acquisition as an engineering challenge: diagnosing pipeline bottlenecks, building workflow automations, and designing frictionless hiring systems. As Via continues to scale, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of talent across the company.

About the Role:

  • Own the full hiring strategy for your global teams, from defining target profiles to executing the outreach plan for top talent.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to understand their goals, challenge assumptions, and shape a process that leads to the right hire.
  • Build and maintain proactive, high-quality candidate pipelines that reflect both the external talent market and Via’s future roadmap.
  • Run fast, thoughtful, and innovative recruiting processes that give candidates a great experience while helping teams move quickly.
  • Spot patterns and opportunities to improve how we hire, sharing insights and data across teams at every opportunity.
  • Map, track, and source top talent across major markets, leveraging deep research skills to become a subject-matter expert in industry trends.
  • Make data-driven decisions, using key metrics (funnel conversion, calibration, pass-through rates) to diagnose bottlenecks, educate partners, and solve problems.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience across every stage of the interview process.
  • Think big and build: develop new initiatives to market opportunities at Via, engage talent, and raise the operational rigor and impact of the Talent function.

About You:

  • Intellectually curious, collaborative, and eager to grow in a fast-moving People Operations function.
  • Results-driven; you're motivated to meet and exceed your goals.
  • Reliable, independent, and able to manage high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • A savvy, tactful, and graceful communicator - you intuitively find the right tone in every situation, and enjoy working with others.
  • Analytical and innovative; you're a natural problem-solver, and you approach new challenges with creativity.
  • Technically savvy; you may already know some Boolean operators, and you're excited to explore new platforms.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience at a high growth company.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base Salary Range: $95,000-$135,000 per year plus equity as part of a total compensation package. Final compensation will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills.
  • Comprehensive health coverage, with low-cost dental and vision plans.
  • A 401(k) with company match and vesting.
  • Fully paid parental leave for new parents, with extended leave options.
  • Additional benefits (mental health, pet insurance, and other wellness perks).
  • 20 days of paid time off (PTO) annually.

There has never been a more exciting time to be on the cutting edge of public mobility. Ready to join the ride?
