YOUR IMPACT STARTS HERE

We're looking for a Senior EHS Specialist to lead and sustain environmental, health, and safety programs at the site level, reporting to the Regional EHS Manager. In this role, you'll serve as a key resource for operations, maintenance, engineering, human resources, occupational health, and site leadership, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing risk, and strengthening employee engagement in proactive hazard identification. You'll operate with a high degree of independence, providing technical guidance to the site while leading incident investigations and program audits. This is an opportunity to drive continuous improvement across safety, health, environmental, and compliance initiatives at a hands-on, site-facing level.

WHAT YOU'LL BUILD & OWN

EHS Program Leadership

• Lead day-to-day execution of site EHS programs, ensuring requirements are current, documented, communicated, and consistently applied across all shifts and work areas

• Develop, maintain, and improve written EHS programs, procedures, JSAs, inspections, and training materials to address site-specific hazards and regulatory requirements

• Partner with site leadership to build accountability for safe work practices, timely corrective action closure, and proactive risk reduction

• Oversee the site EHS budget to support compliance, training, PPE, corrective actions, emergency preparedness, and risk-reduction priorities

Incident Management & Risk Reduction

• Lead incident, near-miss, first-aid, and hazard investigations using root cause methodology; ensure corrective and preventive actions address systemic causes

• Classify and escalate serious injury and fatality potential events, significant hazards, and compliance concerns in alignment with EHS expectations

• Analyze incident trends, audit findings, near misses, and exposure data to identify risk patterns, recommend practical controls, and incorporate opportunities for coaching

Inspections, Audits & Regulatory Compliance

• Plan and conduct routine safety walkthroughs, program audits, regulatory self-assessments, and compliance inspections; verify corrective actions are completed and effective

• Serve as the site EHS contact during corporate, third-party, customer, insurance, or regulatory reviews; prepare documentation and coordinate follow-up actions

• Maintain required EHS records, permit obligations, environmental compliance documentation, and regulatory reporting with accuracy and timeliness

Training, Communication & Employee Engagement

• Develop, deliver, and maintain EHS training for regulatory, site-specific, and operational requirements, including new hire orientation, LOTO, PPE, hazard communication, emergency response, forklift/PIT, machine guarding awareness, hot work, confined space, and other applicable programs

• Track training completion, identify gaps, evaluate training effectiveness, and partner with supervisors to ensure employee understanding and accountability

• Coach employees, supervisors, and managers on hazard recognition, safe work expectations, incident reporting, and effective corrective action follow-through

Occupational Health Partnership

• Collaborate with Occupational Health on first response, recordability support, exposure data, medical surveillance, return-to-work coordination, emergency response planning, and employee health-related EHS needs

• Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, quality, contractors, and regional EHS resources to integrate safety and environmental expectations into daily operations, projects, equipment changes, and process improvements

Additional Responsibilities

• Support emergency preparedness, evacuation drills, spill response planning, and site-specific emergency procedures

• Use EHS systems and data to maintain accurate records, track corrective actions, monitor trends, and communicate performance to site and regional leadership

• Contribute to enterprise EHS initiatives by sharing site-level feedback, lessons learned, and practical solutions that can be scaled across Victaulic operations

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered where appropriate

• 6+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, fabrication, foundry, heavy industrial, or multi-hazard operational environments

• Demonstrated experience leading EHS programs, incident investigations, regulatory compliance, training, audits, CAPA management, and risk reduction initiatives

• Working knowledge of applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations and recognized industrial risk-control practices

• Strong communication, coaching, problem-solving, data analysis, documentation, and cross-functional influencing skills

• Ability to work in active manufacturing environments and respond to EHS needs across shifts or outside normal business hours as required

• Ability to walk the production floor for extended periods, climb ladders, and wear PPE including respirators, with exposure to noise, heat, and industrial equipment in an indoor/outdoor mix

• Up to 10% travel, primarily to a single site
