Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

to join the team in Thessaloniki

Sidenor, is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for its Plant in Thessaloniki. With 65 years of industry know-how and expertise Sidenor is the largest steel industry in Greece and constitutes the steel production and trading segment of Viohalco. Sidenor Group is a leading steel producer in Southeastern Europe with 6 production units in Greece, Bulgaria, Northern Macedonia and Cyprus.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will contribute to the overall mechanical maintenance of our production process. You are dedicated to working with your colleagues as part of a high-performing team, demonstrating enthusiasm, high motivation and passion to develop fast and picking up new skills and talents as you go.

What you will need to do:

• Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.
• Help develop and update maintenance logs, procedures, and work instructions.
• Work alongside the team to resolve mechanical issues involving hydraulic, pneumatic systems, conveyors, and pumps.
• Support in analyzing equipment failures and implementing improvement actions.
• Work closely with technicians and operators, while continuously building your technical skills through training and hands-on experience.
• Follow all safety procedures (including Lockout/Tagout), report hazards, and contribute to a strong safety culture.

What you need to possess:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering and Management (Member of Technical Chamber of Greece)
• 2+ years of prior experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment will be considered an asset

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong theoretical understanding of mechanical principles (e.g., thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science).
• Basic familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Exposure to a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
