This advanced operation will produce highly engineered underground power and telecommunications cable products to support growing global infrastructure and energy demand.

As part of this exciting growth, we are seeking a Production Manager to help lead manufacturing operations and support the successful launch and long-term performance of the facility. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing global organization and play a critical leadership role in building a high-performing production culture focused on safety, quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement within a highly automated wire and cable manufacturing environment. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

This position plays a key role in supporting extrusion, stranding, jacketing, and other cable manufacturing processes while ensuring adherence to customer specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. The Production Manager will help establish best-in-class manufacturing practices and drive operational performance across the facility.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets are achieved
  • Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize manufacturing efficiency and throughput
  • Oversee cable manufacturing processes including extrusion, stranding, jacketing, and related production activities
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Logistics teams to support efficient plant operations and customer delivery commitments
  • Monitor production performance, downtime, scrap, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, process optimization, and productivity enhancement
  • Ensure all products meet established quality standards, customer specifications, and industry requirements
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, operators, and production staff to build a high-performing and engaged workforce
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through training, audits, compliance, and accountability
  • Support inventory management and material planning activities to ensure operational continuity and minimize production disruptions
  • Manage production-related projects, including process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new product introductions
  • Monitor and manage departmental budgets, labor utilization, and operational costs
  • Support the implementation and optimization of ERP and manufacturing systems to improve operational visibility and efficiency
  • Contribute to long-term operational strategies and plant performance objectives aligned with business goals

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Must be authorized to work in the US
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience within an industrial environment required
  • Prior experience within the wire and cable manufacturing industry strongly preferred
  • Experience in continuous manufacturing environments such as cable manufacturing, aluminum or copper wire production, metallurgical processing, extrusion operations, compound/elastomer manufacturing, plastics, or other highly automated industrial production environments preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing production teams in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing setting

  • Understanding of quality management systems, ISO standards, and manufacturing best practices
  • Experience monitoring and improving OEE, scrap reduction, throughput, and production efficiency metrics
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Experience managing budgets, labor performance, and production costs
  • Ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
