Project Manager

Job Description

The Project Manager will coordinate and report on various projects within CALS, supporting both CALS ORI and project teams. This position will oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned projects and help ensure they are completed successfully and on time. Responsibilities include managing project timelines, coordinating faculty and team members, tracking project progress, and working with project leadership to establish and achieve key milestones. The Project Manager will also help prepare project reports, proposals, and budgets while ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders. Additionally, this position will support fiscal and administrative activities, including monitoring budgets, processing invoices and reimbursements, and coordinating with on-campus and off-campus offices. The successful candidate should have strong organizational, communication, and time management skills, be able to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines, and work independently while supporting the overall goals of CALS ORI and its research projects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and demonstrated experience managing projects.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate complex projects, manage competing priorities, track milestones, and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to prepare and edit project documents, reports, and communications.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders, coordinate responsibilities, and communicate project progress and issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a STEM-related discipline or a project management certification, such as Project Management Professional (PMP).
• Experience managing sponsored projects or contracts in an academic or industry setting.
• Experience developing programs or partnerships that support project goals.
• Experience using project management software to track schedules, milestones, resources, and deliverables.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
