About the Role

As Key Account Manager - Grocery & Convenience, your primary focus will be growing our presence and share of shelf across key grocery and convenience accounts. You will support category management and sales initiatives by analyzing Nielsen and SPINS data, identifying assortment and distribution opportunities, and developing recommendations that drive new listings and expanded shelf space.

You will work closely with category buyers, directors, distributors, and internal teams to strengthen key account relationships, grow our wholesale network, and ensure sales and distribution objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead head office presentations for all key grocery and convenience accounts in Ontario.

  • Support new product and retailer launches, including POG/MOD assessments and recommendations within required timelines.

  • Build ACV across grocery and convenience accounts while increasing SKU assortment.

  • Manage daily administrative tasks to ensure effective coordination and support for distributors and accounts, including presentations and new distribution opportunities.

  • Effectively manage and organize category data and information.

  • Create sales presentations and supporting materials for all accounts.

  • Visit key retailer head offices to meet with Senior Category Managers, review performance, and advise on changes and opportunities.

  • Build compelling presentations using relevant market data and category insights to maximize market share and share of shelf.

  • Develop deep category expertise to become a trusted category resource and leader with each retailer.

  • Identify white space opportunities while keeping retailers engaged through factual category data, insights, and analysis.

  • Provide category value by managing and analyzing each retailer dashboard to assess product velocities and identify opportunities.

  • Manage trade spend and account financials to ensure appropriate spending while achieving distribution objectives.

  • Identify and develop off-shelf opportunities to drive consumer engagement and incremental growth.

What you will need to succeed:

  • 3-5 years of category management experience within CPG, specifically supporting large national key accounts in the Canadian grocery and convenience channels.

  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian grocery and convenience landscape, with experience working with accounts such as Parkland, Circle K, Petro-Canada/Suncor, Rexall, or similar retailers.

  • Strong experience with category assessment, POG/MOD planning and implementation, assortment management, and identifying opportunities within key grocery and convenience accounts.

  • Proficiency with category data and reporting tools, including Nielsen, SPINS, IRI, retail POG software, and advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Financial understanding, including account P&L management, forecasting, demand planning, inventory management, trade spend, and seasonality.

  • Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep senior leadership informed of key business developments.

  • Entrepreneurial and independent mindset, with the ability to work cross-functionally, influence without direct authority, and operate with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, growing business.
