What you’ll do

Based at The Speechmark in London, this role will own VodafoneThree’s Government Affairs activity across a broad portfolio of political, public policy and stakeholder priorities. The role will help lead the team’s stakeholder engagement strategy and political intelligence, with support from senior Government Affairs colleagues. The successful candidate will turn political developments and complex business issues into clear advice, persuasive briefings and effective campaigns. They will manage politically sensitive casework, coordinate activity across portfolios and build trusted relationships with MPs, special advisers, officials and other stakeholders.

• Own and deliver Government Affairs strategies across a broad portfolio of political and public policy priorities, working closely with Regulatory, Legal, Network and commercial teams.
• Monitor the political landscape, assess emerging risks and opportunities, and turn complex developments into clear, practical advice for senior leaders.
• Create high-quality briefings, speaking notes and submissions, and develop campaigns that align political, policy, stakeholder and business activity.
• Build trusted relationships with MPs, special advisers, officials, political parties, think tanks, trade associations and other key stakeholders.
• Manage politically sensitive enquiries and casework, provide input into consultations and parliamentary inquiries, and represent VodafoneThree at external meetings and events.

Who you are

• Substantial experience in government, Parliament, politics, corporate public affairs or a related field, with evidence of operating independently on complex and politically sensitive issues.
• Excellent political judgement and a strong interest in UK politics, with the ability to identify emerging risks and opportunities and recommend practical action.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver stakeholder engagement strategies and build trusted relationships with political and policy audiences; experience as a government, political or parliamentary adviser would be particularly valuable.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to understand complex policy, regulatory and commercial issues and turn them into clear advice, concise briefings and persuasive materials for senior audiences.
• Demonstrable experience of planning and delivering public affairs campaigns, combined with a collaborative and organised approach to managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality work at pace.
