About this Role
We are seeking a Tax Accountant to join our Advanced Finance team in Budapest. This role is ideal for a finance professional with experience in tax and accounting who enjoys working with complex financial data, ensuring compliance, and supporting international tax operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in tax calculations, reporting, reconciliations, forecasting activities, and maintaining the accuracy of tax-related data across ERP systems.
What you’ll do
- Extract, analyse and interpret accounting data for tax purposes.
- Prepare tax calculations, tax returns, reclaims and third-party disclosures
- Prepare and monitor tax payments and support tax payment forecasting activities. Assist with transfer pricing documentation and tax-related compliance activities.
- Review and verify the accuracy of tax accounting data maintained within ERP systems.
- Perform tax reporting and support forecasting, budgeting and year-end activities in line with IFRS and local GAAP requirements.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations against tax payments, refunds and tax authority statements where applicable.
- Collect and maintain tax exemption certificates, tax residency certificates and withholding tax documentation.
- Manage tax-related updates to vendor and customer master data within ERP systems.
- Review payment proposals, identify incorrect deductions or postings, and support corrective actions before payment processing.
- Liaise with tax stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance.
Who you are
- Experience working in the field of tax.
- Exposure to an accounting environment and tax processes.
- Strong analytical and interpretation skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within deadlines.
- Customer-focused approach with strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Knowledge of Hyperion and additional European language skills would be advantageous.
