The Shipping & Receiving Technician will be located onsite in Pueblo, CO and reports to the Materials & Production Planning Manager. This role is responsible for the accurate and compliant processing of all inbound and outbound shipments across Estes Energetics facilities, ensuring materials are received, verified, documented, and shipped in accordance with purchase orders, contractual requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. Two positions are available; both carry identical responsibilities and are designed to be interchangeable across facility locations to ensure operational continuity and multi-site coverage as shipment volume increases across concurrent programs.

In this role, the essential functions are:

• Inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing lists, and certificates of conformance; process receipts accurately in ERP/MRP system (NetSuite).
• Identify, document, and escalate discrepancies, damages, shortages, or non-conforming material to the Materials & Logistics Coordinator or planning team.
• Coordinate with accounts payable on receipt discrepancies to prevent duplicate payments and inventory variances.
• Identify inbound materials requiring receiving inspection per quality requirements; coordinate timely handoff to the Quality Senior Receiving Technician where applicable, maintaining accurate receipt status and documentation through the inspection process.
• Prepare and process outbound shipments including packaging, labeling, carrier coordination, and generation of shipping documentation - bills of lading, packing lists, and export paperwork.
• Ensure compliance with ITAR and export control requirements for all applicable inbound and outbound shipments, including government freight.
• Coordinate government freight shipments per applicable federal transportation and contracting regulations (DTR).
• Support increasing outbound shipment volume across multiple concurrent programs; maintain accuracy and compliance under high-tempo conditions.
• Maintain receiving and shipping logs and documentation in compliance with AS9100 traceability and audit-readiness requirements.
• Obtain and file required material documentation including certificates of conformance and material certifications for each order received.
• Follow all hazmat handling, storage, and shipping procedures per DOT and applicable regulations.
• Support physical inventory counts and cycle counting activities as directed.
• Communicate proactively with the Materials & Logistics Coordinator and planning team on receipt status, inbound delays, and shipment exceptions.
• Perform cross-facility duties as required

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and State and Federal background checks.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain State and Federal explosives licenses.
• 1-3 years of shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to use a forklift and manually lift, carry, or move items up to 50 lbs; forklift certification required or must be obtained upon hire.
• High attention to detail and documentation discipline - receipt accuracy is a direct compliance and financial control requirement in this environment.
• Strong communication skills; ability to coordinate with internal teams and carriers effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience maintaining shipping and receiving records.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in defense, aerospace, chemical, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with ITAR, export control, or government freight shipping requirements.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP/MRP systems for receipt processing.
• Working knowledge of DOT hazmat shipping requirements, including Class 1 / Division 1.1.

Travel, Physical and Government Mandated Requirements

• Travel up to 5%, including the possibility of overnights within the continental United States.
• Ability to lift, move, or carry items or equipment up to 50 pounds. Ability to use a forklift; OSHA-compliant site-specific certification required or must be obtained upon hire. Use of personal protective equipment required.
• Candidates must meet all eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain applicable state and federal explosives licenses, including minimum age requirements (21 and over), a drug-free workplace in compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988 (41 U.S.C. §§ 8101-8106), Executive Order 12564 (Drug-Free Federal Workplace), applicable Department of Defense directives including DoD Instruction 1010.09 and DFARS 252.226-7003, and successful completion of any legally required background investigations.
• To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

The good faith base salary range for this role is $22.00 - $28.00 per hour at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.

Colorado pay range
