Backend Developer

Backend Developers with 3 to 4 years of experience are responsible for building and maintaining the server-side components that power our web applications. They translate product requirements into reliable, scalable services, ensuring data integrity and high performance. The role involves designing RESTful APIs, optimizing database interactions, and collaborating closely with front-end engineers, product owners, and QA teams. Ownership includes delivering functional code, troubleshooting production incidents, and contributing to continuous integration pipelines. By maintaining clear documentation and participating in code reviews, the developer helps uphold coding standards and supports the team's ability to release features quickly and safely across multiple environments.

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and coverage.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes.
• Optimize database queries and data access layers for performance.
• Collaborate with product owners to translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline enhancements using Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Document API endpoints and service behavior for internal consumption.
• Assist in migration of legacy services to containerized environments using Docker.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3 to 4 years of professional experience developing backend services.
• Proven experience with Java and Spring framework (or equivalent language/framework).
• Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Ability to write clean, testable code and apply unit testing practices.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with cross-functional teams.

• Java (or Kotlin) development with Spring Boot.
• Design and implementation of RESTful APIs.
• SQL and relational database design (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Version control with Git.
• Unit and integration testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, TestNG).
• CI/CD pipeline configuration (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for deploying services.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
• Participation in Agile Scrum teams for at least one full project lifecycle.

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Understanding of message brokers like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Ability to write performance monitoring scripts using Prometheus or Grafana.
