Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.
We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across 9 countries and are growing fast.

How you'll help us achieve it
As Wave continues to grow in The Gambia, we’re looking for a Marketing Manager who can turn strategy into impactful execution-coordinating product launches and customer-facing initiatives that strengthen Wave’s presence and relevance across the market.
Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, this is an individual contributor role with end-to-end ownership of campaigns and marketing initiatives. You’ll bring strong planning, stakeholder management, and execution skills - helping the team deliver against critical business priorities while enabling the Senior Marketing Manager to focus on strategic direction, team development, quality standards, and larger market opportunities.
In this role, you'll;
Marketing Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute marketing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Lead major marketing campaigns from planning to execution.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer acquisition, engagement, and retention.
- Ensure all marketing activities reflect a strong understanding of customer needs.
Project Management
- Own marketing projects independently and ensure timely delivery.
- Develop and maintain project timelines (retro planning), proactively managing risks and dependencies.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to deliver projects successfully.
Creative Development
- Develop clear and effective briefs for design teams and agencies.
- Participate actively in creative review sessions, providing constructive feedback that improves campaign quality and impact.
- Ensure all marketing materials are aligned with Wave's brand standards and messaging.
Stakeholder & Agency Management
- Work closely with internal teams including Payments, Biz-dev, Sales, Product Marketing, and Support to facilitate project progression and success.
- Draft marketing project report/cycle reports for sharing with relevant internal audiences.
- Manage relationships with agencies and vendors to ensure high-quality execution.

Requirements
- Fluent in English.
- At least 5 years of experience in marketing.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in relevant fields (marketing, communication, sales, business development, etc).
