Full Stack Engineer (Public Sector)

We are seeking a talented and motivated Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our dynamic development team. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our software products, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

You will be part of a cross-functional development team that values quality, automation, and the user experience of the software we deliver. You will also contribute to other ECMP products, such as CrowdTaskSG, SG Translate Together, FileSG, and BookingSG.

What to Expect

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications: Write clean, scalable, and efficient code to create software solutions that meet user needs.

• Build scalable contact data pipelines: Develop robust data ingestion, deduplication, and segmentation logic for contact management at scale.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality, citizen-centric products.

• Participate in code reviews: Ensure code quality and share knowledge with team members to improve overall team performance.

• Debug and troubleshoot issues: Identify and resolve software defects and performance issues.

• Implement automated testing and continuous integration: Ensure the reliability and stability of the software through automated tests and CI/CD pipelines. As there is no dedicated Quality Engineer on the team, you will take ownership of quality from end to end.

• Create technical documentation: Develop and document technical designs that align with architectural guidelines.

• Integrate with downstream platforms: Connect ContactSG with communication channels used by agencies, such as email and SMS.

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends: Continuously learn and apply new technologies and best practices to improve our products.

• Act as a technical lead when required: Drive technical direction, make architectural decisions, and ensure alignment with best practices and business goals.

Experience We Look For

• At least five years of relevant working experience in software development, preferably in full-stack web development.

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, programming, software design principles, and design patterns.

• Proficiency in full-stack development, with hands-on experience using technologies such as React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.

• Familiarity with cloud services; experience with AWS services would be an added advantage.

• Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in a collaborative environment.

• Experience with data lakes and large-scale data processing is a plus.

• Familiarity with record-matching and deduplication techniques is a plus.

• A background in CRM, contact management, or customer data platforms is a plus.

• Experience with Kotlin is a plus, as it may be required to support legacy codebases.
