Weekday is an Indian recruitment company that sources software engineers through referrals from other engineers rather than through job advertisements or agency databases. Its model pays working engineers to vouch for former colleagues they rate, turning informal knowledge about who is genuinely good into a searchable candidate pool that companies can hire from. Based in Bengaluru and backed by Y Combinator, the platform has layered AI screening and outbound sourcing on top of that referral network, and sells to startups and technology companies hiring in the Indian market.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Middle-Mile Operations: Plan, coordinate, and monitor middle-mile transportation activities between warehouses, distribution centres, and other supply chain facilities.
  • Transportation Management: Oversee vehicle allocation, route planning, shipment scheduling, transporter coordination, and timely movement of pharmaceutical consignments.
  • Warehouse Operations: Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure efficient dispatch, shipment handovers, loading and unloading, inventory movement, and documentation.
  • Pharmaceutical Logistics: Ensure the safe and compliant transportation of pharmaceutical products while maintaining product quality and integrity throughout the distribution process.
  • Cold-Chain Management: Monitor temperature-controlled shipments, ensure adherence to specified temperature ranges, review temperature records, and coordinate the resolution of temperature excursions.
  • GDP Compliance: Ensure logistics activities comply with applicable Good Distribution Practices (GDP), SOPs, documentation requirements, and quality standards.
  • Operational Performance: Track KPIs such as on-time dispatch, on-time delivery, transit time, shipment accuracy, temperature compliance, and transportation cost.
  • Partner Management: Coordinate with transporters, third-party logistics providers, warehouse partners, and internal teams to maintain service levels and resolve operational issues.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and address shipment delays, route disruptions, temperature deviations, documentation gaps, and other logistics-related challenges.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency, warehouse coordination, capacity utilization, and overall supply chain performance.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare operational reports, maintain accurate shipment records, monitor service-level agreements (SLAs), and provide regular performance updates to stakeholders.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential supply chain risks and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize disruptions and ensure continuity of operations.

What Makes You a Great Fit?

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in middle-mile logistics, transportation management, warehouse operations, or pharmaceutical supply chain operations.

  • Experience coordinating with third-party logistics providers, transporters, warehouse teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
