Software Engineer – Verification Infrastructure

What you’ll be doing:

At WEKA, we're looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our growing Verification Reliability Engineering (VRE) organization.

As part of our Apps & Tools team, you'll design and develop Python-based tools and infrastructure that simulate real-world customer workloads and behaviors across WEKA's distributed storage clusters.

This is a hands-on software development role that requires strong coding skills, deep technical curiosity, and a system-level mindset.

You'll work closely with WEKA's core technology, gaining a deep understanding of our product's architecture, complex features, and interactions between components. You'll use this knowledge to build scalable verification infrastructure that challenges our core product under realistic, large-scale scenarios.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop Python-based tools, frameworks, and infrastructure for system-level verification.
• Build solutions that simulate real customer workloads and usage patterns across distributed storage clusters.
• Deeply explore WEKA's architecture, functionality, and complex product features to identify meaningful verification scenarios.
• Develop scalable solutions that validate core product behavior under complex, real-world conditions.
• Work with large-scale distributed environments, addressing challenges involving Linux, storage, networking, and cluster behavior.
• Collaborate with Core R&D and Verification teams to improve product coverage, reliability, and quality.
• Take ownership of development projects, from technical design through implementation and integration.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience developing complex software systems, tools, or infrastructure.
• Strong Linux knowledge and hands-on experience working in Linux environments.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and their underlying concepts.
• Experience with storage systems, networking technologies, or complex system-level infrastructure.
• Strong system-level thinking and the ability to understand complex architectures and interactions between components.
• Experience developing scalable solutions and working with complex technical environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Ability to independently explore unfamiliar systems and translate technical understanding into practical engineering solutions.

Nice to Have

• Deep understanding of low-level Linux Storage components
• Experience with C/C++ development.
• Experience with large-scale clusters, performance testing, or workload simulation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems and development infrastructure.
