Director, Healthcare & Life Sciences Practice, Provider

West Monroe is seeking a Director to join our Healthcare & Life Sciences practice, focused on healthcare providers. In this role, you will work with our national Provider practice advising organizations ranging from large health systems delivering a broad continuum of services to specialized providers focused on areas such as home and community-based care. You will serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare executives, lead complex transformations, grow strategic client relationships, and help shape the continued growth of our Provider business. 

What You Will Do 

Client Delivery  

• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior healthcare executives, bringing deep provider expertise and a clear understanding of the strategic, operational, technology, and organizational issues shaping healthcare. 

• Lead complex, enterprise-level engagements and transformation programs, providing executive oversight across scope, financial performance, staffing, quality, risk, and client outcomes. 

• Translate healthcare market dynamics and client priorities into actionable strategies that improve performance, operations, patient and workforce experiences, and organizational capabilities. 

• Build and expand executive relationships across health systems and specialized provider organizations. 

• Develop high-performing teams, providing direction, coaching, and quality oversight across engagements. 

• Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs. 

• Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes. 

Business Development  

• Originate and shape new opportunities with existing and prospective healthcare provider clients. 

• Lead strategic pursuits, proposals, solution development, and executive-level client conversations from opportunity identification through close. 

• Grow key accounts by identifying emerging client needs and connecting them with relevant West Monroe capabilities. 

• Strengthen West Monroe's position in the healthcare market through executive relationships, industry participation, and thought leadership. 

Practice Development  

• Help define the strategy and growth priorities of the Provider practice, including new offerings and capabilities aligned with evolving market needs. 

• Develop intellectual capital, methodologies, and solutions that differentiate West Monroe in the healthcare provider market. 

• Build healthcare expertise across the practice through coaching, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and development of future leaders. 

• Attract and retain high-performing talent while fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture. 

What You Will Bring 

• 12+ years of healthcare consulting, provider strategy, operations, transformation, or related experience, including leadership of complex engagements and executive client relationships. 

• Deep knowledge of healthcare provider organizations, including health systems and/or specialized settings such as home and community-based care. 

• Demonstrated ability to advise C-suite and senior executives on complex strategic, operational, technology, and transformation priorities. 

• Proven experience originating opportunities, leading pursuits, growing client relationships, and contributing to revenue growth. 

• Strong commercial and engagement leadership skills, including oversight of teams, financial performance, quality, and risk. 

• Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs. 

• Ability to travel 25 to 50%.

Based on pay transparency guidelines, a reasonable expectation for the salary range for this role is listed below. Information on our competitive total rewards package, including our bonus structure and benefits is here.  Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.Employees in proximity of our Seattle, Washington DC, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco offices will have a geographic premium applied to this salary scale. 

Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, purchase shares from our employee stock ownership program and be eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Eligibility for ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available upon hire date.
