What We Do
We are focused on design and development of next generation firmware architecture and algorithms to deliver high performance and cost-efficient enterprise Hard Disk Drive (eHDD) products. This position is based in Western Digital Tech and Regional Center (M), which is a Center of Excellence located in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. It is currently only open to Malaysian as there is limitation of expatriate hiring in the guideline.
What You Will Do
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure drives and test systems preparation upfront according to the validation request
- Execute, monitor and ensure the completion of validation request within timeline.
- Escalate any Automation issue to engineers.
- Perform 1st level FA - systems, drives, equipment, automation and interpreting results to make effective recommendations.
- Bring up to date for the Inventory Tracking System and System Management of all lab equipment - Drives, spare parts & FA device inventory, systems maintenance.
- Execute recovery plan upon infrastructure issue.
REQUIRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in Electronic / Electrical or Computer & Telecommunication Engineering with at least 1 to 4 years related experience.
- Intellectual curiosity about improving processes and determining root causes.
- Ability to explain problems simply and clearly.
- Good problem-solving skills, including process and root cause analysis.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate, influence, facilitate, and document to multiple audiences at varying levels of seniority.
- Ability to work independently and part of a team.
- Ability to support night shift on daily basis (Monday to Friday).
- You have excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication.
- You are comfortable and enjoy working in a dynamic and ever evolving environment.
- You can be a fun and enthusiastic teammate who enjoys challenges and celebrates successes.
DESIRED SKILLS and/or EXPERIENCE
- Programming language skills (C, C++, Java, Python).
- Experience in testing/product engineering.
- Hardware and software debugging skills.
