Work Location: In-person role based in Windham, NY.
Seasonal Position: This Full-Time role is available for the winter season.
Pay: $20-$22 per hour based on experience
Anticipated Start Dates: The Beginning of December
Schedule: Will require working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Conditions: Must be able to get to a from work in all weather conditions. This is an indoor position.
Overview of Position:
The Shop at Windham Mountain Club is a multi-seasonal specialty retailer that carries a vast selection of equipment, clothing, and accessories for a variety of outdoor activities. The Retail Service Technician is primarily involved in ski/snowboard equipment repair and maintenance using sophisticated mounting and tuning equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all aspects of servicing ski/snowboard equipment including but not limited to mounting & adjustments, tuning, and boot fitting
- Proactively address all customer needs and questions.
- Maintain all shop equipment and tools.
- Operate POS system.
- Operate ski/snowboard service tools and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all safety precautions, including use of proper personal protection equipment (gloves, safety goggles, hearing protection, etc.).
- Maintain knowledge of the ski area, programs, events, daily snow conditions and any other information that aids in your communication with guests.
Qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Hands-on experience mounting and tuning equipment.
- Intermediate knowledge of ski and snowboard construction.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Must be comfortable interacting with both staff and guests in a friendly and helpful manner.
- Must be able to handle a stressful, noisy, and crowded situation.
- Must be able to use basic computer systems and POS software.
- Basic math skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours.
- Ability to stand and walk on uneven terrain, including snow and ice covered surfaces.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach regularly.
