Wise is a British financial technology company founded in 2011 by two Estonians who were frustrated by the cost of moving money between pounds and euros. It built a network of local bank accounts in each market so that most transfers never cross a border, publishes the mid-market exchange rate with an explicit fee, and has extended the model into multi-currency accounts, debit cards, business payments and an infrastructure product that banks resell. The company listed directly on the London Stock Exchange in 2021 and moves tens of billions of pounds for millions of personal and business customers each quarter.

Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money.

Min fees. Max ease. Full speed.

Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.

As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money.

For everyone, everywhere.

More about our mission and what we offer.

You’ll be part of a commercially-minded Tax team, helping to ensure our tax affairs are efficient, transparently compliant and slick so that our mission is sustainable.

Your mission:

This includes managing the relationship with outsourced service providers and the maintenance of supporting documentation, review of tax returns, quarterly estimated payments, and extensions.

  • Assist with the preparation of ASC740 and local GAAP tax disclosures and provisioning including return-to-provision, valuation allowance analysis and UTP tracking.

  • Manage tax audit and examinations, including responses to tax authority inquiries and information requests.

  • Assist tax-related SOX internal controls, maintain master tax calendars, and ensure complete adherence to all statutory and internal filing deadlines.

  • Work closely with financial controllers, accounting, and finance system teams for sources of data and information, including directly extracting information from our ERP system, improving tax data accuracy and identifying opportunities to enhance and automate tax processes.

  • Engage in team-wide initiatives including budgeting, forecasting, planning, risks and controls. It is important to be interested and engaged in all tax initiatives and to work closely with all members of the tax team.

About you:
