We are looking for a multidisciplinary UI/UX Director to join our digital game team at Wizards of the Coast and be responsible for defining the visual identity and functional architecture of our game’s interface. As a UI/UX Director, you will ensure that complex data is translated into intuitive player experiences while maintaining alignment with the artistic direction and the core mechanics of a core RPG.

What You’llDo 

  • Direct the design and development of all UI elements, including menus, navigation, HUD, and effects. Ensure the visual style aligns with the established Art Direction and supports our intended immersion. 
  • Distill complex mechanics and game data into clear, intuitive player choices. Create layouts that prioritize clarity and ease of use for deep, systems-heavy gameplay. 
  • Work with the Art, Narrative, and Core Gameplay teams to integrate the UI into the broader game experience. Ensure consistent messaging and functional alignment across all departments. 
  • Act as the primary champion for accessibility, ensuring the game meets industry standards for accessible and inclusive design. Develop UI/UX systems that support a wide range of player options and customization. 
  • Mentor other UI/UX designers and oversee the production of assets from concept to final implementation. Maintain quality standards through all development phases and provide clear feedback and mentorship to the team. 

What You’llBring 

  • 7+ years of experience in UI/UX design within the games industry, with a significant background in a leadership or director-level role.  
  • Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate a clear vision to stakeholders, internal teams, and external partners. 
  • Comprehensive understanding of current UI/UX tools, graphic design principles, and technical implementation pipelines. 
  • Expert knowledge of usability, player behavior and psychology, and accessibility standards within interactive media. 

What Sets You Apart 

  • Passion for Dungeons & Dragonsand roleplaying game systems, with the ability to translate complex tabletop mechanics into digital interfaces. 
  • Solid understanding of best practices for intuitive, player-centric design and video game UI/X accessibility standards.
