What You'll Be Doing at Woodard & Curran

In this role, you'll work alongside experienced operators and maintenance professionals, gaining hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of industrial wastewater treatment facilities. This position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, working five 8-hour shifts, Sunday through Thursday, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Because our facilities operate around the clock, flexibility to assist with weekend coverage, emergency response, and occasional off-hour needs is essential.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or trade school certification required.
- 2 to 4 years of experience operating or maintaining water and/or wastewater treatment facilities preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments.
- Hands-on troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve equipment and system issues.
- New Jersey Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License (N) preferred, or the ability to obtain one through examination or reciprocity.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification with current 8-hour refresher, if applicable.
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Working knowledge of wastewater treatment operations, maintenance practices, equipment, and tools.
- Commitment to safe work practices and an understanding of hazards associated with industrial wastewater treatment operations.
- Ability to respond to emergency call-outs when needed.
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort using workplace applications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, procedures, and work instructions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team-first approach.
Additional Information
As part of our hiring process, finalists will be required to successfully complete a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening.
Compensation: $26.00 - $30.00/hr. based on level of experience and licensure.
