The World Economic Forum is an independent, not-for-profit organization, headquartered in Geneva, with offices in New York, San Francisco, Beijing, and Tokyo.

We are the trusted platform for public-private cooperation where leaders come together to understand global challenges and drive action across sectors and regions. We create spaces where different stakeholders engage openly, build trust, and collaborate to help solve shared global challenges.

Context and why we are recruiting

The Centre for Cybersecurity (C4C) was established by the World Economic Forum in 2018 with the aim of building a collective response to global cybersecurity challenges by leveraging the impartial, public-private platform of the World Economic Forum. The Centre for Cybersecurity is today working with over 180 organizations, from both public and private sectors, towards securing our digital future.

We are seeking a highly-driven Initiative Lead to drive activities within the Cyber Resilience portfolio. The ideal candidate will be technically astute and have a strong background in analysing and drafting on different aspects of cybersecurity policy and technology. In particular, the candidate would preferably have exposure to critical infrastructure industries and their specific cybersecurity concerns.

Reporting line and how is this role embedded in the wider team?

The candidate will work closely with Centre colleagues and relevant Forum counterparts to engage public- and private-sector partners. The role will also connect with related Centre initiatives, communities and events, including the Annual Meeting on Cybersecurity, the Global Cybersecurity Outlook report and the CISO Community.

The candidate will collaborate with colleagues across the Centre, other relevant Forum centres and the Global Industries team. Externally, they will engage a broad range of stakeholders, including business partners, research institutions, academia and expert communities.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Scale the cyber resilience initiatives of the Centre, most notably in important critical infrastructure sectors.

  • Design and execute cross-industry exchanges, with the objective of building communities of action at the ecosystem level.

  • Build relationships, curate and grow the initiative participants, which include a range of public and private sector stakeholders.

  • Build consensus and develop thought leadership pieces on the elements intrinsic to cyber resilience such as embedding a culture of cybersecurity, governance, cyber readiness, supply chain security, etc.

  • Understand and deploy the Forum’s digital knowledge tools such as Transformation Maps to build awareness.

  • Shape the design and content of sessions for the Centre and Forum events and produce relevant insight to be used in products for various audiences such as white papers, infographics and reports.

  • Support the strategic delivery of the Chief Information Security Officers Community by coordinating the planning and execution of CISO Community activities, ensuring smooth delivery, strong participation and effective follow-up.
