Software Engineer - Platform Automation & Integrations

Location: San José, Costa Rica (Remote)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivatedSoftware Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will design, build, and support the automation, integrations, and infrastructure that power critical business services across our global organization.

You will work with modern technologies including Atlassian Jira Service Management (JSM),GraphQL, Apollo GraphOS, AWS, Microsoft azure and Microsoft Entra ID, helping drive self service capabilities, platform reliability, and scalable cloud solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, automating processes, and building secure, scalable systems in a collaborative and fast paced environment.

What You'll Do

Build Platform Solutions

Develop, enhance, and maintain backend services, integrations, and platform capabilities.Work heavily with JSM - forms, automations, Assets & integrations.Design and support scalable GraphQL APIs using Apollo GraphOS and modern development practices. Build reusable tools and automation solutions that improve operational efficiency. Create self service capabilities that simplify user experiences and reduce manual effort.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Apollo GraphOS or enterprise GraphQL platforms.

• Experience administering or integrating with Atlassian Jira Service Management (JSM).

• Knowledge of AWS and Microsoft Azure services.

• Understanding of identity and access management platforms, including Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory.

• Experience with Linux and Windows system administration.

• Knowledge of networking, security principles, and cloud architecture.

• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform or other integration platforms.

• Experience creating technical documentation and solution designs.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience administering or integrating with Atlassian Jira Service Management (JSM).

• Experience developing software solutions withJavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or similar languages.

• Hands on experience building and supporting APIs, ideally withGraphQL.

• Experience with systems integration and cloud technologies.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

• Understanding of CI/CD practices and automated deployment pipelines.

• Experience working within Agile and DevOps environments.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Contribute to architecture decisions and platform engineering best practices.

• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve planning, coding, testing, and documentation while maintaining engineering quality standards.

• Partner with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders across a global organization.

• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.

Identity & Integration Engineering

• Design and support identity and access management (IAM) solutions using Microsoft Entra ID and related technologies.

• Develop integrations across cloud platforms, business systems, and enterprise applications.

• Help improve platform security, governance, and automation standards.

Drive Automation & Infrastructure as Code

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.

• Automate cloud provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.

• Support and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable and efficient software delivery.

• Leverage cloud APIs to streamline operational workflows and platform management.
