What you’ll own

  • Lead and oversee day-to-day collections activities, ensuring outstanding balances are recovered in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop and implement effective collection strategies to reduce delinquency rates, improve cash flow, and optimise overall team performance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement through the implementation of automation tools, systems, and technologies to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor team performance, providing coaching, training, regular feedback, and ongoing support to drive engagement and achieve departmental objectives.
  • Ensure all collection activities are conducted in accordance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments and key stakeholders to resolve customer disputes, streamline processes, and enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Analyse collection performance metrics and reporting data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the development and implementation of best practices, ensuring a consistent and customer-focused approach to debt recovery.

What you’ll bring

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership position, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyse data, produce reports, identify trends, and support business decision-making.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience using collections systems, software, and tools to effectively manage workflows, monitor performance, and drive operational efficiency.
  • A results-focused mindset with the ability to prioritise workloads and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

It’s a bonus if you have

  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and refining debt collection policies and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk management.

  • Experience managing relationships with third-party vendors, agencies, and key stakeholders, ensuring service levels are maintained and business objectives are achieved.
