  • Review logistics requirements and tracking information to support effective distribution and delivery decisions.
  • Maintain accurate logistics records and monitor shipment progress, identifying issues that may affect schedules or service requirements.
  • Support the development, review, and implementation of procedures for distribution and inventory management.
  • Analyse logistics information and tracking records to identify opportunities to improve workflow, delivery performance, and inventory control.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, suppliers, service providers, and other stakeholders to resolve routine logistics issues.
  • Communicate logistics status, requirements, and potential issues clearly and in a timely manner.
  • Follow applicable company processes, procedures, and requirements relating to logistics, safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Recommend practical alternatives or solutions when established approaches do not adequately address an assigned logistics requirement.
  • Support the work of junior team members when required, including assigning and reviewing activities within the scope of the role.
  • Maintain a strong focus on accuracy, service, cost awareness, and continuous improvement in day-to-day logistics activities.

What you’ll bring to the role

You’ll bring a practical, organized, and collaborative approach to logistics, along with the ability to manage multiple activities while maintaining attention to detail.

Qualifications and experience

  • A university degree or equivalent qualification in logistics, supply chain management, business, operations, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Alternatively, equivalent relevant experience in logistics, materials management, transportation, distribution, or a related field will be considered.
  • Typically, 3+ years of relevant experience in logistics or a related operational environment.
  • Experience working with logistics, distribution, inventory, transportation, or materials management processes.
  • Intermediate understanding of systems, processes, and tools relevant to logistics and supply chain activities.
  • Experience working within defined procedures and processes, with the ability to apply sound judgment when dealing with routine and moderately complex situations.

Skills and capabilities

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to prioritize competing requirements and meet deadlines.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review information, identify issues, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and tracking information.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain logistics requirements and information to different stakeholders.
  • The ability to develop positive working relationships and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • A customer-focused mindset and an understanding of the importance of safe, reliable, and timely service delivery.
  • The ability to work with increasing independence while recognizing when technical guidance or escalation is required.
  • The confidence to suggest improvements and alternative approaches when they can improve efficiency, service, or cost outcomes.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and ethical business practices.
  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn new systems, processes, and ways of working.

You will work under general supervision and technical guidance, with regular interaction with your supervisor or manager. Your work will be reviewed for accuracy, adequacy, and conformance with established procedures, while you continue to build the experience and confidence needed to take on greater responsibility.
